. . . you view a poopy diaper as a symptom of illness 
The kids and I are sick. Not too bad, just a little fevery and a lot of pooping going on. Last night Owen cried and crawled over to me on the floor where I was sitting (that's actually a normal cue of his). I hugged him and before I could stand up he immediately pooped in his diaper. It just came on him too fast to do anything. Then in the middle of the night he woke and pooped in the potty (in the middle of being up for two hours!). So I was caught totally off guard when just a few hours later (still night) he pooped in his diaper. He was NOT happy about being cleaned up half asleep.
Poor little buddy. We've been averaging one poopy diaper a MONTH since we started EC. Having two in one night is definitely a symptom of him being sick.
