another patchy swing dress

since i received my new machine i thought i would try it out and make a few dresses:
the newest is on the top, labelled "3T patchy dress"

its a really easy pattern by mccalls
its the stitch 'n save 3481

But do you just sew your patches together until the piece covers the pattern piece and then cut it out?

made these capris to go with lyllys patchy jumper(under teh dresses section), i need to take in the waist (so it will look more like capris) but i didnt want to cut the elastic until i had measured her...

hey mama,
i answered in the other thread but i will answer here too JIC
you can do that (piece the patches together) or you can buy the ready-made patchy fabric. i have done both and really like both ways, my mother bought a lot of the patchy fabric so i have been using that up :-)
