Asthma in our special needs and fever

When my pddnos kiddo gets hit with one of his asthma attacks he often gets a fever ( my aunt's dd did this too) but neither of them ever have a secondary viral or bacterial infection...

I was wondering if anyone else had this occur ??

Is it a low-grade fever or is it a high spike followed by normal temp readings?

Our ds also runs a low-grade fever when asthma is a problem. I wonder if it has to do with all the mucus that is produced???? Our ds produces huge quantities of the stuff. . . I also wonder if he gets a slight inner-ear issue with his asthma and if the disorientation causes a fever. These are things I wonder about with my own ds; do you see those connections????

My son also gets a fever when he has an asthma attack, but it is usually caused by a case of pneumonia which the ER dr's tell me later that he has had pneumonia for a while. See my son always does not look sick when he gets a cold or something. Then sometime he will get a fever for no reason at all and and the asthma will kick in....The Dr then will come back and state that my child has to much mucus in his lungs.
