Where to get homebirth videos?

Is there somewhere where I can get videos of homebirths? I unfortunatley can't have a hb since I am a vbac in az and mw's can't do them. But I am planning on laboring at home with a mw until the last moment before going to the hospital. I just want to see some natural births, preferably at home. Does anyone know where I can get this?

You can see a slideshow of my birth here: http://www.mothering.com/interactive...rth-movie.html

There are some others online and I don't actually know where they're at. :

Do you know a local DEM or CPM? They might have a lending library that you could borrow some from, or you can look some up (there was a mothering article last year or so about a review of birthing videos - here it is: http://www.mothering.com/articles/pr...th-videos.html) and check them out from your library if they have them, or perhaps they could get them via inter-library loan for you. That link also has how to get those videos. HTH

My Bradley teacher showed tons of natural and home births- I would ask around to as many childbirth teachers as possible. Also, if there are any birth resource centers in your area, they should be able to help you out.
Good luck.

I would call around to some midwives who do CBE classes, they usually have some to lend out. Also I know there are mws here who do VBAC they just make you sign a waiver stating you are aware of the risks. Just thought I would let you know.

I just am not comfortable with asking someone to do something illegal. Plus I don't want to be dropped off at the hospital and not have her with me if I was to get transferred. I know some are comfortable with that but I am not....unfortunately. Thank you though!

If you buy the new edition of Gentle Birth Choices at Amazon.com, you get a copy of the movie on DVD too.

I don't think that the pp was talking about anyone illegal... just signing that yu know that there are risks... you can still go to the hospital with her if she was to do that with you anyways but she can't be held liable if something does go wrong... it is just mostly for insurance purposes I would guess..

I signed waivers to not have vitamin k etc with my midwife in the past... it just makes it clear that I know the risks but that is my choice...

No, it is illegal for mw's to attend vbac's here. Even if you sign a waiver. They can get in big trouble for doing it if they were to get found out. So, if we had to transfer they tell you they can not go because they can not risk getting found out. I looked into this a lot and unfortunately that is how it is here.
We signed waivers for vaccines for my boys too but this is different.

I know it is illegal for lm but not sure about CNM. I know someone who just had a vbac in March and her mw had no problem sending in the bc, doing the pku or blood draws (where as before that was all a no-no). I will ask her tomorrow if her mw was a cnm or not. Because this was def different from prior experience.
