Superman Returns

Has anyone seen it, and if so what did they think. I went and saw it on Wednesday afternoon. The night before I was looking through some old stuff, and I had recorded an A&E program about Superman, so we watched that. It was interesting to realize that Christopher Reeve was 25 when he became Superman, and Brandon Routh and Tom Welling (Smallville) were both 24. I went and saw Superman II in the theater and I was so young then, that how young the adults were didn't really sink in. I thought of them as old. I still think of Tom Welling as maybe 20 at the most, but he just turned 29 in April, according to IMDB.

Anyway, I liked the movie although there were parts I didn't care for as much just because they disturbed me. I don't handle water scenes well. I wish there had been more of Clark, and that they had made it more believable that people just wouldn't get that Clark and Superman are one in the same. There was romance between Lois and Superman, but also between Lois and her partner, Richard which felt a little more believable and tender. That was the way to make the romance not the big thing.

I'm not sure if I get the continuity between the Superman II and this movie, although I had read they were supposed to connect, but I have some questions about how that all works.

Anyway...feel free to share your opinion on the film.

They had a free showing on base, with Brandon Routh signing autographs, last week. Every single friend who went to the showing wasn't impressed and didn't think it was good at all.
