Any September mamas drinking RRL tea? - Page 2

I've been drinking it since the beginning of my pregnancy. I actually drink a mixture of RRL, nettle, alfafa, red clover & a dash of peppermint.

I do know my iron levels are 'great' according to the labs and I would attribute that to the infusion I drink daily

Does anyone know if there is much of a difference between taking RRL in pill form rather than tea?

I am drinking it too. I try to get in 3 cups of the organic TM RRL a day.
I drink it unsweetened and let it steep around 10 minutes. Sometimes, I just chug it since I am not to fond of the taste.
Whether or not it is the placebo effect or not, I do notice an increase in my BH contractions when I drink it.

Thanks for the reminder. I have been neglecting my RRL tea lately. I really need to go make some. Hope your itchies get better soon

I did try drinking RRL but I found it tasted like , so I take raspberry leaf vitamin pills (three times a day), and my Mother made me some herb tea thats a mixture of raspberry leaf tea and some other stuff like peppermint and nettle to disguise the "ass" taste, which definatly helps, A LOT.

I've been brewing 1 litre of it, adding some sweetener and then putting it in the freezer! I like it nice and cold - that way I can get my liquid intake and drink my tea!

My midwife wanted me to start drinking an infusion of nettles, so I've decided to do the same with rrl and alfalfa. What she told me to do was to steep the tea in a small amount of water (I'm using a quart sized mason jar) for 8 hours. Then add whatever I want (i.e. honey, lemon etc.) and drink everyday. I just made the infusions (I'm doing the three separately to see what I like at first) today, so I'll start drinking it tomorrow. Hopefully I like it because I can really use the liquid intake!

I'm up to about 2 pints a day, iced, brewed with Yogi Tea bags. But I run out of the bags today so then I'll get into my stash of loose leaf. I bought the loose leaf with my brother, and we were carrying it around in these two little baggies, and it hit me, "um, this looks a little bit like pot." And he looked at it and said, "well, it looks like pot somebody dropped on the floor and vacuumed up and pulled out of the vacuum." I need to get that out of my mind or it is going to look pretty icky to me when it's steeping! I like the taste (with the teabags, anyway, we'll see about the loose leaf).

I'm brewing about a 1/2 gallon of 1/2 RRL and 1/2 nettle. I usually throw in 2 bags of peppermint to help the "ass" taste which actually works. My goal is to drink that whole 1/2 gallon in a day but right now it takes about a day and a half.

I've been drinking it since sometime in the 2nd trimester, though I am cutting back now because of contractions (trying to make it 37 weeks, one week to go!!).

I brew a gallon at a time... one RRL tea bag (yogi or tm) and one Mother to Be tea bag per cup of water. The Mother to Be improves the taste, along with honey. Sometimes I will put in a peppermint leaf from the garden with ice. I keep it cold in the fridge and usually drink about 12 oz a day. Starting next week I will be drinking several glasses a day.

I know some folks don't like the taste but it's great for me... a nice treat in this freakin heat!

I didn't mind the taste? Am I weird? I was going to start at 33-34 weeks, but now have decided to hold off til 36 weeks just in case. I'm dialated a bit and engaged and I don't know if this could somehow push it further, but I just don't want to risk it I think putting some honey in it and putting it in the freezer sounds good! Have I posted the recipe for labor aide here?

1 qt water or RRL tea
1/2t salt
1/3 c honey
1/4 t baking soda
1/3 c lemon juice
2 crushed calcium tablets

I'm going to get that ready and put it in my freezer, if I only fill the container half way then I can fill it the rest of the way with cold water and it will melt but still stay cold

Thanks fo that recipe!!! My midwife has gatorade on the list but I'd rather not do all those chemicals.

I saw this some where else too, but I am wondering about the calcium tabs. Is that just calcium vitamins & if so how many mg?

I've been adding lots of diffrent things to my tea blend to make it taste better, plus I get bored drinking the same thing all the time. My tea is a mix of RRL, alfalfa, nettle & dandelion. Then I add lemon & honey, or just honey, or I even cut it with some yummy juice. That way it tastes diffrent, plus I get to drink some yummy sounding juice, but I am not overloading myself with sugar. Oh yeah & it has to be very cold. I try to keep it in the freezer. Or even fill a bottle half way & freeze that, then add more on top so it stays cold longer.

I was just going to use my regular calcium+d tablets, they're 600 mg each. I think muscles use calcium to contract, which obviously we want to help when we're in labor

Hi! I drink 2-3 cups a day. I make mine by putting a RRL tea bag and a nettle tea bag in a cup. I add 6 ounces of boiling water and let it set for 15-20 minutes. I squeeze the tea from the bags and add honey. Recently I've started using raw honey. Then I add a generous splash of mint flavored liquid chlorphyl and chug it down. It tastes great! At 34 weeks I haven't had a single contraction (well, maybe a single one during sex, but I'm not positive about that one), but I don't know if drinking the tea has anything to do with that or not.
