Cymbalta?

Has anyone tried Cymbalta? Does anyone know if it is safe with nursing? I've seen the adds on tv and I was interested in the fact that it is also supposed to treat pain related to depression.

Since it hasn't been around as long as other antidepressants there is not as much anecdotal evidence about taking it while nursing. I haven't tried it.

There's more info about other a/d's that have been around longer. http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/...ssant-ref.html

Sorry I don't have experience with taking it. Just wanted to post some kind of reply to you since I hate seeing 20+ views and no answer.

I'm nursing and taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia pain. So far it hasn't done any good and I'll probably discontinue it soon after a fair trial. As far as I know its labeled as an "unknown" as far as nursing while taking it.

I took it for a few months when I was still nursing DS,he was 12 mths to 15mths but he was only nursing 2-3 times a day.I stopped taking it when I got pG though.I have to say it worked SO well for me,much better than zoloft(which I am back on now during my pg)I hope there are more studies on the nusing aspect though as I would love to be able to take it (if i need it) when this babe is born.

I was just wondering the same thing today. I took Cymbalta about a year and half ago before baby and really liked how it helped. But, I'm finally coming to terms that my baby blues are not going away (after seven weeks) and I need help. I hope someone else may have more info on this.... I would like to take it while breastfeeding.
