Two weeks ago I was admitted for high blood pressure... despite the different meds they tried, it wouldn't stay in a safe zone. On Monday afternoon, I started showing other signs of preeclampsia- I'd had it before in previous pregnancies, one that ended with an induction & stillbirth at 23 weeks. By Monday night, I was starting to become unstable. Because baby was laying transverse breech, they needed to decide what to do fast- last time my platelet count got too low for a c-section or epidural and they couldn't risk that with her position.
After six vaginal births, I had a c-section Tuesday at 3:40 am. Our daughter, Elora Jade, was born weighing 1 lb, 2 ounces, and she was 11.5 inches long. Elora is doing well, despite her tiny size. She's going to be in the NICU for a long time, but she's holding stable. She's a feisty little one
