all day long ive been having contractions about every 10 - 15 minutes, and i really havent been in any pain..i did have some lower back pain earlier..but nothing to bad right now, but i do have some faint pain in my lower belly..they feel almost as if they are period cramps..anyways, i noticed my underwear have been a little wet today, didnt think much of it..now, im leaking a cloudy liquid that im really noticing..but, like i said, still not much pain..can someone please help me and tell me what i should do??! its like 1:40am and im scared..

how much liquid is there? If it is completely broken it should fill a pad in an hour...well more than that probably. Are you planning on giving birth at a hospital?

Not part of your DDC, but hope I can help. Probably the best thing to do at this point is to relax. Don't introduce anything into your vagina (no sex, no fingers, etc...) Keep very clean, if you go to the restroom wash with a peri bottle or jump in the shower to rinse off. As long as baby is active, I would not go to the hospital until you start having regular painful contractions. All they will do is a vaginal exam and then if your water is broken, you are at risk of infection. As long as you don't have an exam and stay clean the risk of infection is very small.

If you are scared and in a lot of pain then it wouldn't hurt to go to the hospital. What they will do is do some invasive testing down there to make sure your water broke and if it did they will keep you and you'll have your baby soon! They may try to give you pitocin if you contractions aren't stong enough though.

I hope everything turns out well Good luck!

I agree with the PP--if possible, try to relax at home for awhile. Get a bit to eat and drink, maybe lie down if you can and focus on relaxed breathing. Easier said than done, I know! My water broke with my first, too, and, in retrospect, I really wish we'd waited before running in to the hospital, just because it could still be awhile before things really get rolling. But, if you'd feel more at ease there, please go in and get checked. Sounds like this is it for you! Congratulations!

It could be your water. Good luck!

It sounds like it definitely could be your water that borke - the same thing happened with my dd. Try to relax - I know it is easier said than done. A warm shower really helped me when I was in early labor. You know when it is time to go to the hospital - listen to your instincts. All they did to test if my water had broken wqs use a strip of paper that changes color if it is broken - nothing too invasive. Good luck and congrats!!!

TRy not to panic You sound really scared. Please do try to relax. You seem to be still pretty early to me. Due to my calculations, you are not 37 weeks yet. I am due 21st and I just turned 37 weeks on Friday.

Forget about your age!! Don't let it be an obsticle for you!! Just because you are 17 does not mean you are not capable of taking care of yourself and your baby! You are strong woman that is going to have a baby soon so don't let anyone in the hospital tell you otherwise!

good luck with your baby! It's gonna be all just fine.

best of luck, mama!

Did you feel a pop? Was there ever any gush of fluid? If not it still could be that your water broke, but it's just leaking slowly. Your other symptoms sound like early labor to me too. Hang in there, try to rest, I bet you'll be feeling contractions soon. What an exciting time!!

Are you still around? How are things going? Knowing that you are 17, I wonder if you have anyone there with you? If not and you haven't already, I think I would go to the hospital. I certainly think you can do this, even though you are young, but I don't want you to be doing it alone, especially if you are scared.

Sorry for butting in on your DDC, but it could just be additional vaginal fluid. While preparing for labor, you secrete a lot more fluid to moisten the birth canal, and help with it's stretchiness.

Stay at home. Even if it is your water that broke, you don't want to go to the hospital, having a bunch of people sticking their fingers up you, and be put on their clock, having to give birth in 10 hours or end up with a c-section. Relax. Sleep while you can. Prepare yourself emotionally for being a mama. Labor will be a lot easier if you are mentally relaxed about it.

How exciting!

Good suggestions here already... try to stay hydrated and relaxed, and remember that the contractions are doing what they are supposed to do to let your baby come out! You can do this! Your body was made to do it!

(Personally I would not go to the hospital... I would try to remain at home, relax and breathe. But you should do what makes you feel comfortable )
