Happy 4th of July Mama's!!

:HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!:

So, what is everyone planning on doing today? How do YOU celebrate the 4th?

Today, we are going to take it easy. It's my EDD today, and I am not gonna take the chance that our traditional plans would work out. Usually we go down to the waterfront in Tacoma, WA and set up on the beach and then watch the fireworks over the ocean, but I don't think that's a good idea this year!! It took us an hour to find pa rking last time, and we had to be there at noon, just to get a spot, to see the fireworks at 10:30pm.

C'est la vie! This year, we are going to stay home, and light off some fireworks of our own, and barbecue with family and friends. I am actually really looking forward to it! I think it will be awesome!

So, what are everyone else's plans, or what did you do on the 4th?

I think we are just going to hang out at home today, DH wants to have a "jammie day" - translation, sit around in our PJs and relax all day. The only real thing I have planned is to go into the garage and try to find the infant car seat.

Yesterday we went over to Seattle for the day. Went to the Space Needle (OK, got to the top and DS had a meltdown ), the Pacific Science Center and the Sci Fi museum. It was a lot of walking so I'm pretty sore today, ready to kick back and take it easy.

We are going to grill some shrimp for dinner tonight and have some fireworks to set off in the yard, then we'll kick back and enjoy the fireworks everyone else is setting off. They've been setting them off for the last couple of nights, some of them are pretty fancy! I don't think they are the "safe & sane" fireworks from the stand by Safeway, I think those puppies came from the reservation up by Bainbridge Island.

We went out to lunch and to the grocery store. Tonight we'll either be going out to dinner with friends or staying home and making dinner for them. It's way too hot for me to be outside for more than 10-15 minutes without swelling or feeling dizzy, so fireworks are out.

Happy 4th right back atcha!! (Well, for me it's actually the 5th of July) We didn't do anything special here - no special events, since we don't live in the U.S. right now (we'll have to wait until Singapore's National Day next month to see fireworks ). And I prefer to stay close to home these days, anyway. Have a wonderful fourth, mamas!

Happy 4th!

We went to the pool this morning and wore out DD Then my MIL and FIL came over in the afternoon for steamers and appetizers, and we watched the World Cup a little bit. DD is on her way to night-night land, so no fireworks for us (save the ones on tv or set off by neighbors ) I made a cherry pie from scratch and it's cooling right now... I am trying to restrain myself until DH comes back downstairs

Gotta rest though. My back is *killing* - we picked lots of fruit this weekend, including strawberries, which require a lot of squatting! Baby is down nice and low but man o man... I need a backache smiley!

: : these two should do the job for back pain, and I'm having it today, too, quagmire. Baby seems so low I feel like it's going to come right out any second. If only...

We went for a small hike, and are now going to watch fireworks from our car to avoid the crowd, and I dont know that the babe here could handle all that noise. Its enough to see my cat running for cover.

Other than that I cant seem to get enough sleep. Of course I'll probaly be up all night, on these forums per usual

We had a mellow morning. Dh and some family members went fishing until lunchtime. More family showed up for lunch and we ate and then went back to the lake near our home for swimming. I love being in the water this late in the pregnancy! It wears the kids out, too.

Then after a two hour family nap, we had dinner at 7 and went to the city park for fireworks and music. Very mellow and family friendly, although dh is a fireworks junkie and says next time we go to the city to watch at the river!

I stayed in my pajamas all day and watched the whole Project Runway marathon.

we finally got rain yesterday evening (the 4th)so we are going to buy fireworks for tonight (or tomorrow since it's supposed to rain again). we had a drought and didn't want to chance starting a fire out here. we live out in the county (which is very rural) and have no rules. our neighbors had quite a firework display monday night. and we watched from our deck.

we fished a lot these last few days (catfishing), and went to the waterpark on friday. and yes, i rode the giant waterslides down the hill so my dd could go. saturday, family reunion and everyone joked i could have the baby there in the river if i wanted. I did go in the river (Tennessee River, but not to birth). Sunday was my b-day, so i had a quiet morning by going to my boss's office and got the map all in order (that's my idea of nesting).

today i need to clean my house, and since we are getting rain again (after 4 weeks without) the grass will be growing again.

Indeed! Maybe one of these too... Last night I was up like 5 times through the night feeling major pressure, but alas, no dice or babies
