I FINALLY had my baby! She was due June 12th and was finally born July 3rd, at 43 weeks exactly. She was planned to be a UC, but we ended up going the hospital route. No regrets though as the experience was different than planned, but not traumatic. The important stuff:Sex: a girl
Name: Eden Hale
weight: 8lbs 8oz (2lbs bigger than my biggest babe)
length: 21 inches
What a long, strange trip it has been. After having my kids at 39 weeks and 34 weeks, I never in a million years thought I would end up having my membranes ruptured in order to give birth at 43 weeks. After weeks of labor-ish behavior and days of contractions that were constantly going nowhere, we just had to change our perspective on a few things. It was nice though, the only intervention that was done was AROM, otherwise they didn't give me any IVs, meds, etc. They had a whirlpool tub that I was able to labor some in, a birth ball, a rocking chair, etc. The staff was great about encouraging me, and then they were wonderful about getting us out of there for early release yesterday afternoon. The hospital we went to was a small country hospital and the doc on call happened to be a wonderful family practitioner who was really into low intervention and was very respectful of us and our decisions, which really is what made it such a nice experience for us.
So anyhow, I thought I would let you all know that I can FINALLY join in the threads about taking care of my baby now that she is earthside! WHOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
