Not making my kick counts.

Sorry to be a downer amongst all the new baby threads, but I could use some postitive thoughts here. Since Monday the babe's movements have really slowed down, but I've always made the 10 movements in 2 hours. So far this morning I'm not faring so well. I even ate cinnamon rolls and a big old orange juice in the hopes that all that sugar would get him rocking, but it hasn't. Thankfully, I have an obgyn appt in an hour (11:45 cst) and I was able to get a friend to watch the kids for me so that dh can go with me, rather than staying home with the kids. I'm thinking that I might end up at the hospital for a NST after my appt if he doesn't start moving soon. I'm debating taking my bag with me because if I'm all prepared for the worst, then the worst won't happen, right???

I'm still getting the occasional movement, so I know he's still alive in there, but I'm starting to get worried. Say a prayer for me. I'll try to update later with positive news.

oh dear! Don't worry... I think this is normal. Happens to me at the end of every pregnancy so far, except this one. I think the counting is unnecessary, honestly. If babe's heartrate is good, I suggest just talking to your baby and assuming this is a resting period before birth

Thinking of you, and hoping for the best!

I agree with Amy. It could just be a resting period before impending labor, or maybe, like mine did 3-4 times during later pregnancy, she just sorta, took a day off, as the midwives put it. Please, don't stress mama . I am sure that everything is just fine!!

Keep us posted mama!

mine has slowed down too. no more room to move. but, i tap on it any time i need reassurance and this baby is very cooperative and responds. i too feel like it's gearing up for some big event, plus the lack of room. it does like to jab me down below so i'm picturing it knocking on the cervix door when it does or at least messing with finding the right key.

hope you get the reassurance you need at your ob appoint, but you are in my thoughts until you do.

I hope your appointment brings some reassurance!!
This past week my babe's movement has really slowed down considerably. It was in constant motion, and now it feels as if he/she is sleeping all night and just has a few wakeful periods during the day that feel like repositioning more than anything else. Each baby has been so different, so I'm hoping this calm trend continues after birth. But I too get a little nervous with the change in frequency of movement. I've never been one to poke the baby or do anything to get it's attention, but the past few days I've started to poke and talk and tickle to get a response...And the orange juice, chocolate pudding, etc.! It is nerve-wracking.

Beth, just trying to call you on the phone! No answer! Let us know, I am sure everything is ok. Baby is probably resting for his big big journey! You still may, indeed, go before me! Let everyone know how it went and CALL ME, if your not in labor, if you are, then I am sure I will find out soon!

this happened to me the other day...i slept in an extra hour and a half and didn't feel him move for 3 hours. I was about to head to the hospital when he started moving. I hope everything is going okay.

This evening we took the kids to the pool, and I totally wiped out while hurrying to pluck the 2yo from the wading pool, where he'd fallen face first and couldn't get up. I wasn't in a swimsuit and was totally soaked and injured, bloody ankle... sigh. It was awful. Anyway, we're fine now but the point is it took me 5-10 minutes to get the baby to move after I fell. I hate that wait.

Oh that stinks!! But baby is moving okay and everything?? I am so sorry you took a spill. I am pretty sure that my cat's are assasins and that someone has a professional contract out on me. During my 7th month, TWICE mind you, they would come down the hall and dart in between my legs and stop right in front of me. Both times, I fell squarely on my back. I panicked the first time, so I couldn't yell at them, but the second time.....

Kitty kabobs for dinner.

Jish, fill us in asap, ok?!

And yes, it was no fun, but I did fall into water after all so I didn't expect anything was really wrong. Baby's moving like mad as usual tonight...

sabbath, kitty kabobs I am envious of cat people - I'm allergic but I think I'd otherwise like one. Much more than a dog.
