Which potty?

Ds1 seems to be very interested in going to the bathroom, but says that his little toilet hurts him. I've tried putting a pillow inside the lid (it has a lid that closes so you can use it like a stool) but he doesn't like that and the lid doesn't come off.

What little potty did you/do you use w/your wee ones? Where did you get it? If you used the toilet insert in the big potty did you use a stool to help your dc get up onto the toilet?

TIA!

Hi!

Even though my strong-willed daughter is not interested at the moment in training, we have a cushioned thing that goes on the top of the potty and a step for her to get on it ok.
We also have the smaller training potty and she won't use that at all. She doesn't like it. I think for her it's because we all use the "big" potty. She is also on the tall side, so I think it's more comfortable for her to be on the larger one.
I remember with my son, I had to get one that had that cup thing in front so he didn't "miss" LOL :

We had one of those Baby Bjorin Potty training chairs. It is two pieces, the chair with a back to it, and a lift out cup to dispose of the pee/poo. We kept this in the living room most of the time. I know that sounds weird, but we let her run around naked alot and that way she didn't have too far to run to the bathroom when she had the urge. After she was getting the hang of it we got her a cushioned insert for the grown up toilet that she could place on there herself. She's 4 1/2 now and has been using the regular toilet for about a year or so. Never had complaining from her about either item she used, but every kid is different.

We are using the seat on the big toilet. I have tried the stool idea, but he wants me to hold him up to get on for now. I figure whatever will make him want to go!

DD liked the baby bjorn one piece potty. no place to get the bum pinched like the insert pottys have, but tedious to clean.

I had a little cushy insert for the regular toilet and a step stool.

DS has always used the big potty. He hates smaller toilet seats, or potty chairs. He's always hated them. I think he thinks that since mommy and daddy don't use them, why should he? He stands up to pee, so that's not a worry, and when he has a BM, he kind of puts his legs on either side of the toilet seat to sit up, or hangs his little booty inside the rim just a little bit.
