Oh My Gosh!!!!!

I went today to get birth control, and found out I can't, because...

I'M PREGNANT AGAIN!!!!! :

Holy goodness, ladies! Sam is only 2 1/2 months old, and the midwife estimated me to be around 8 weeks along, which means the ONE time we did the deed w/o protection, 2 weeks after she was born, I GOT PREGNANT!

Has anyone had kids this close together? If so, how do you cope with two babies under a year old?? I'll check in with the parenting multiples crowd, but this is crazy!!!

I'll find out exactly how far along I am when I get my sonogram done...I'm calling to schedule tomorrow.

They're also going to monitor me very closely this time and make sure I make it to at least 36 weeks.

WHOA!!! I'm floored! :

Oh crap!!!!

All I can say is WOW... and, I'm NEVER going to DTD again!

No, seriously, I'd be in shock too. That would be really tough, but you know from a spiritual stand point I'd have to assume this new little spirit was really meant to be. I used to date a guy whose mother got pg when he was 3 weeks old and had her second son when her first was 11 mos. Crazy. But she didn't regret it at all, though it was like your situation and completely unintentional.

I didn't even know you could ovulate that soon after birth. Dang woman! Well, I certainly wish you the best. It will take some energy, but what a blessing!

Jumping in from July DDC -

WOAH! I am definately discussing birth control asap with my midwife. I do agree with Grace's Voice though. It was meant to be, and that little spirit certainly "meant to be" pretty hard!! You will do great!

Holy cow, I just had my June baby 2 days ago, so I can't even imagine. Hey, I guess that explains why the pumping milk maybe wasn't working out so well!!! Congrats! I am sure it will be very busy, but what a wonderful blessing! I wish you the very, very best in this pregnancy!!! I guess you just get to jump from one due date club to another

Holy crap! and Congratulations!
I am curious how you actually had sex 2 weeks after giving birth Ruby is 15 days old and I have some interest in sex... but there is no way in hell i'd let someone near my recovering bod. Of course I had a c-section and am not allowed to have sex for a few more weeks.... Hearing stories like this make me slightly (only slightly) thankful for male factor infertility.... the likelihood I'll get pregnant without significant intervention is SO minimal! whew!

My sister and I were 15 months apart, my mom was 6 months pp when she got preg with me. I have no idea how my mom did it, as my older sister is 2 years older then the second... so 3 under 3. crazy crazy!

Good luck

There were bio siblings in my neighborhood growing up that were only eight months apart (second one was premature, obviously). Their mother seemed reasonably sane. Actually, she was pretty cool. And both children made it to adulthood!

Good luck, and get ready for a lifetime of explaining the age gap...

Wow!! Congratulations - I'm sure you'll do great, and I agree with the PP who said this 'meant to be' was really meant to be!!!

OMG! I can't even imagine...
I have a friend who's pregnant with her second and her first is 10 months right now. The major issue she's having is being on strict bedrest right now. Hopefully you won't run into that this time!

Congrats I'm sure you're going to love having two babies who are so close and I'm sure they'll love it too in a couple years!

Congratulations! That awesome!

Pardon me for asking, but how were you able to DTD at 2 weeks?! Did you have a c-section? There is no way I could have DTD after my vaginal deliveries at 2 weeks. : I did it at 7 1/2 weeks PP with ds#1 and at 4 weeks PP with this birth, but that was too soon. I was really sore afterward and decided not to try again for a few weeks!

Congratulations!!! to you and little bean.

I know someone! My MIL had baby #1 and was already holding baby #2 at baby #1's birthday. My dh was baby #2. She says she loved it... but she went on to have four more babies, although not so close!

You'll do great.... although you must still be in shock; I would be!!

Maybe TMI, but my bleeding was pretty much done after four or five dys pp. And I did deliver vaginally, for those who are wondering. My stitches were gone after about a week and a half pp, and since DH had been too nervous to DTD the entire last three months of my pregnancy, I was a bit...tense. Add to that the fact that I was staying in a different city in order to be with Sam while she was in the NICU, and only seeing my DH once or twice a week, and there you go.

My sonogram is scheduled for Monday at 2:45, so we'll find out more then. There's a chance this is a boy, since I had obviously JUST ovulated, but we picked out a girl's name last night just in case!

Wow. And I looked it up last night...there's less than a 1% chance you'll ovulate w/o a period w/in the first 6 months pp.

I gotta learn how to double sling!

Jumping in from August DDC. Congratulations Sarah! Irish Twins - wow! I'm sure you'll have a lot of ups and downs in the next several months, but like others have said - this baby must really WANT to be in your family!!! Good luck sweetie - you'll be great! BTW - double slinging isn't that hard - you'll figure it out quickly!
