My friend told me about a doula that just finnished her certification and is looking for a "volunteer" family to work with so we "signed up". It's a postpartum doula and we met her yesterday and she is TOTALLY AWSOME!! She is in her 50', but she is totally hippe and I LOVe her!!
She will come after the borth and help with breasfeeding, and the baby and DS if I need her to and she said she's very good cook (she is Italian). She also has a digree in counceling so if I have some post partum depression or baby blues I can totally talk to her about stuff.
I offered her to come for the birth as well - we sure could use an extra hand since we have no family here. She will let me know if she will come or not.
It's only 8-10 hours of help over all, but better then nothing!! She knows some great LC also - I could not find any, so it's totally cool.
My DH really liked her too. She is just so crunchy!!
Really cool lady.
I am really happy to met her.
