Hi mamas! I'm putting together a photo/video montage for DH for his 30th birthday. I thought I had finished today, but then I started thinking that I wanted to replace the first song I am using. This is the way I have organized the photos/video footage with songs:

"You ARe the Sunshine of My Life" (Stevie Wonder): DH's baby pictures through high school

"Holiday" (Weezer): teen years, h.s. graduation, friends, our dating years, our wedding

"All You Need is Love": DH and DS

So here's my problem. The whole thing is already close to 10 minutes as it is. I don't want to go any longer than that, so I'd like to stick with just 3 songs. That first song, while it's great, doesn't really do anything for me accompanying the pics. I think it's because that section of the montage covers so many stages in DH's life, it's hard to find a song that conveys the sweetness of his baby/toddler years AND the goofiness of his adolescence, KWIM? So, bring it on mamas...what do you suggest???

How about To Be Alone with You by Bob Dylan. It's up tempo and sweet. It's during his "Lay Lady Lay" crooner phase off of Nashville Skyline.

I'm literally driving myself insane! :

Every time I think I'm done, I find something else I don't like. I listened to the Dylan song and it would have been perfect if I wasn't using some of his adolescent pictures. Just doesn't fit right, you know? Now I'm thinking about keeping the first 2 songs, and changing the 3rd to "This Will Be Our Year" by the Zombies. What do you think?

My DH is brilliant at creating these things for other people. I don't know what I was thinking--I wanted to make one for him since he does this for others all the time, but I am having a really hard time getting everything just right! Plus, the program I'm using has its limitations. I really need to learn how to use Vegas Video!

This Will be our year is a great song!

It's so hard to pick music for that kind of stuff.
I agonize over making a mix!

Don't know if you're into it at all but how bout for the first song using the new Dixie Chicks song Lullaby. It talks about finding your way in life and my favorite line "How long do you want to be loved, is forever enough, is forever enough"
Or Teach your children well by CSN
I also love Somewhere over the rainbow but I prefer Israel Kamakawiwo Ole's version from Finding Forester. It was our first dance at our wedding :
