Gift for DH?

I'm a lurker from the July DDC coming out to ask a question (1st baby - EDD July 20).

I'd like to get a gift for my DH to celebrate the birth of our child and all the help and support that he has given me (and I hope he gives me during the labour and delivery). You know the drill, through the whole pregnancy I'm the focus, and after the birth the Baby is the focus, I'd like for him to be the focus even for a brief moment just between us. I can't think of anything. It doesn't have to be a big thing, it can play on the sentimental or not. Has anyone done this before, any ideas suggestions?

I figure my not killing him during the labor is enough of a gift...

No seriously, its a great idea, I think making something for him would be a really sweet gesture. (You've reminded me that I promised my Dh a handknit hat over a year ago...maybe nows the time)

Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but really I think bringing your child together into this world is the greatest gift you can give him.

Maybe take him out on a date? Kind of a last hurrah for awhile, since the two of you will be pretty busy post-baby for awhile. You could surprise him by taking him out to his favorite place to eat or to an event he's been wanting to go to.

I went a little crazy and got DH a computer. He moved here from France and had to leave most of his things there. I thought it would be special to get him something really nice. Since most everything WE have is technically mine.

It is also so he can document pictures and video of the birth/baby!
