caesar birth story update

Sorry tried to add this to title of my baby is here thread but couldn't do it!

Anyway I thought even though she was a c section, she should have a birth story

just a short post on her birth story..........

we knew the date she would be born, but we didn't tell anyone.

I went into hospital in the morning and we were due to have the caesar at 12ish but there were a few emergency c sections so we eventually ended up having her at 4pm. I was really scared, I hate hospitals and I hate surgery. The local anaesthetic before the spinal block really really hurt, I just did lots of breathing and biting the pillow........

Can't say I enjoyed the experience but on the plus side when they pulled her out, they showed her to me straight away and she yelled and yelled. Then she had a quick check and they placed her on my chest and I held her while they stitched me up. We went into recovery then with our midwife and my partner and she stayed skin to skin and was breast feeding straight away. She just looked at me with her big dark blue eyes and I just remember crying crying.

It was a real shock to have a girl, I really really thought she was a boy!

She was slightly bigger than my second son, and her head was slightly bigger and that was with her being plucked out early! Well 38 weeks anyway...... so I feel reassured that she wasn't coming out any other way! My second son got stuck halfway in to my pelvis and came out via c section with a big ring around the top of his head, he looked like a ventouse baby!! My first son didn't even get near my pelvis - his head was soo big! I still feel some regret that I couldn't birth my babies, but I guess that's life. Surgeons said every time that my pelvis was reduced and a funny shape.

So I am thankful her head was bigger and would definately not have come out! I think I would have been devastated if she had had a really small head!!

Thanks for the birth story update. I think every c-section is unique because everyone arrives at a c-section for different reasons. So very glad to hear all is well and everyone is healthy and happy......that's all that matters

i love that they placed your little girl on your chest and that she breastfed right away.
thanks for sharing your story. birth's, like baby's, come in all forms. just because you had a section doesn't mean you can't enjoy that magical moment of birth.
