Miss being pg? - Page 2

Oh totally. It was so easy to feed her when she was inside, I just had to eat good stuff! And she was never too cold or unhappy.

But outside she is a lot cuter, I have to say.

chiromama, my SIL's mom told me something when I was lamenting the fact that I had no idea how to raise strong, healthy, empowered women, given that my upbringing was so defeating. I was terrified to be raising 3 girls! She said, "I believe that we all look down before we're born, and choose to whom we want to be born. We decide what skill, or life lesson, or emotion our souls are lacking, and then find the couple most capable of fulfilling those desires in us. There are no mistakes. Your baby has come to you for a reason, and no matter how badly you think you mess up, you're doing what was expected and needed of you."

She's an awesome lady, and made it much easier for me to take a deep breath and realize that while I may screw my kids up, it's totally their fault...they picked me! :

Good point sarah! I like to think of it this way.. I know i'm gonna screw up.. I'm just gonna try not to screw up really bad.

I don't miss being pregnant... I don't handle pregnancy well.

*However*... after DS1 was born (miserable pregnancy... hellacious c-section) I would have told you I never ever wanted to be pregnant again. This time... even though I don't "miss" being pregnant in and of itself, I do feel like I could do it again and that it was much easier this time. I didn't puke for 4 months, no PTL, no bedrest, no swelling, felt great, and had an amazing drug-free VBAC. Because of those reasons, I feel much better about the idea of doing it again in the future.

I got a couple this time. It totally sucked after I had him, for the 1st week but now they're pretty much gone. I got some good stuff from my mw for them which has helped, tremendously.

Yeah, I managed to get one during birth, but never during pregnancy... I think it's going away though because it's not bothering me too terribly bad.

It will go away eventually. Just don't strain when you have a BM, try not to sit on the toilet for more than 2 mins at a time, sit with your feet up on a small stool, apply cotton balls soaked in witch hazel, get plenty of fiber...
I've been using earth mama angel baby's new mama bottom balm, it seems to be helping quite a bit.

I also have one of those nasty things, ugh. Anyone have suggestions for what to do about a bruised tailbone, because that's really the other major thing bedevilling my recovery at the moment. I get nauseous if I sit in hard chairs for more than a few minutes.

Ya know, I liked being pregnant just fine, but I'm having so much more fun now that he's on the outside. Maybe when my parents go home and my husband is back at work I'll miss the "ease" of pregnancy, but right now I'm loving having him out in the wide world. I like being able to look at him and know that he's ok (see him breathing, etc) - I was always a little freaked out by the "I can't see inside my uterus" factor when I was pregnant, I need visual confirmation that all is ok!

Keeta ~ What part of Michigan are you in?

I also LOVED being pregnant and my belly and all of it - so, yes, I also DO miss it, even though I love having him on the outside, too.

I had such a great pregnancy ... if I only went by that, then I would want to do it LOTS more times. But when I consider the labor and recovery ... well, then I'm not so sure about *lots* more.

Get a good chiropractor, it helps A LOT!

My MW yesterday said to make a poultice of slippery elm bark and grated white potato and put it on overnight to help with the hemorrhoid.

I'm in Ferndale, just north of Detroit. Where are you relocating to? There's a really good LLL group here and a fun Mom's night out group that meets every so often in the area, too!

Ahhh...I'll be near either Kalamazoo or closer to Battle Creek area. Not sure which house we're getting yet but am finally finding out today.
