Well, we did it! I will write a more in depth story later.
Autumn Rosalie Elisabbath was born into the world (with only three pushes!!) on 07/06/2006 at 10:03, following a 5 hour labor time. She was born at a birthing center, in the water, w/o any drugs or interventions of any kind! Our plan was to stay at the birth center, but unfortunately, not only did I suffer 3rd degree tearing, which required massive stitching, but I had postpartum hemmorrhage (spelling?) and was transported to the closest hospital (which thankfully was a VERY good hospital, and was my hospital of preference), so that I could be stabilized. We just got home about 1 hour ago, so I was there for two nights, and I received a blood transfusion (not my favorite option, but I lost about twice what most women usually do apparently. I was NOT doing well, but when I got the blood, I was a new woman. Seriously...). She weighed in at 8 lbs, exactly, and was 20 3/4 inches long. Breastfeeding is going....okay. Apparently, and no one had ever pointed this out to me before, I have flat nipples. I thought they came out enough, but I guess not, so I am having to use a nipple shield until we can 'coax' them out a little more!!
So, we are having an interesting time. But things are falling into place! I will update when I feel like I can get out of bed for any length of time!!
