I'm so excited. Marlow gave us her first not-asleep smiles today!
She's a preemie so we weren't expecting them until she was around 12-14 weeks.

It's so wonderful to see her give us happy faces now!!! Now I have to try to catch them with the camera.

ETA: Caught some of the smiles!!!
open mouth smile
Snarl smile
Papa is sooo funny

Let's see some other pictures of smiles!!!

I've gotten one or two from Sam when I tickle her lips. It's the most amazing feeling in the world.

DH gave Sam a drop of homemade ice cream tonight, and she spent the next 20 minutes or so "baby bird-ing" but rejecting the nipple. Apparently she wanted more ice cream!

I only get the gas smiles out of Talula, but they're cute.

Where did the idea that newborn smiles are about gas come from? I personally don't buy it. Aurora smiles when she's nursing, and when she's dreaming about nursing. She also giggles!

Jared does too, so cute. His smiles, though not prompted, are most definitely related to gas.

I love when Ryker smiles in his sleep still haven't been able to get a smile on camera yet though.
