When will you start trying to encourage labor? - Page 2

I am not sure what I'll do if I go over my due date.
I am hoping I will have the baby in next few days! Because I am officially misarable! As good as I felt the whole pregnancy, last two days have been really misarable. Baby is so low I can barely walk. Sitting is very painful as it seems I am sitting right on my cervix. I don't have many contractions to my surprise, but I am CRAMPING so badly, it's like having the worst period of my life non-stop for past 2 days!
Something is definetly going on, but when it's gonna happen.....who knows. What will I do if it does not happen soon? Probably the pump, sounds best of all the options. So far nipple stimulation does nothing.

pavlina - do you have any kind of deadline for the latest you can go? This last stretch is awfully hard, but your cramping sounds like a great sign!

about being stalked, that's hilarious Great to hear from you Q, maybe we'll labor together.

my contractions have been regular but very short and very light, all day. Hoping things will kick up a notch this evening when the kids hit the sack.

I never talked about it with my midwife. but I think she had it in a contract that she will go till 42 weeks, not sure about it though.

I am 37/37.5 weeks at this point, and I've started to increase my RRL tea intake, but that's about it. I don't really have any reason to speed things up other than I am really freakin sick of being pregnant! Oh yes and sex...LOL at this point I don't even care about the big "O", I just want the goods that will ripen everything up ( TMI )

For those thinking of sex as a way of bringing labor on:

I always, always ALWAYS thought that was a load of hooey, made up by some man-doctor who realized he was gonna be out in the cold for six weeks after his wife gave birth. And I've also heard it's even better "taken orally" HA! Hogwash I am sure. (OK I am not sure, but it sounds awfully conveniently suspicious to me).

And I have to stalk you all, I have to live vicariously, I have to have SOMETHING to look forward to because I still have two weeks till my due date, and who knows if this baby will EVER come out???

Well, I just checked myself in the shower and.........

when I checked my cervix this morning I could not even reach it because baby's head was in front of it. No matter wha tI did I could not even touch it.

....well tonight, it's in front!!!! And very very soft, I can put 1-2 fingers in! There is barelly any cervix left also!

I guess my body has been working all day really hard after all! That made me feel SO MUCH BETTER!

I've been taking RRL tea for the past couple of days. I stopped taking EPO today because it was too gross for me. For some reason, it made me burp a ton, and all my belches tasted and smelled like flowers! Which sounds like it should be pleasant, but it's not. I may try applying it vaginally tomorrow. I'm not due til tomorrow anyway, just getting impatient.

i've been drinking RRL tea throughout my pregnancy and last pregnancy too. It was part of the pregnancy tea the midwife recommended.

I'm only 38 weeks so I haven't really thought about it but I've just been drinking tons of RRL tea, having sex and trying to walk.

I am having a HB so there's no pressure but I may try EPO or BC if I go over 41 weeks.

I'm not so sure I believe this, you can, after all, make a study say anything... but the chemicals they are trying to re-create in Cervadil, etc are the SAME chemicals found in semen, so while I don't think sex will bring on labor (nothing will if your body isn't ready) I do think it can help things along, just like EPO.

O personally don't care either way. My DH sent me this article from work so I thought I'd share.
I think most studies are totally stupid and waste of money IMO. I don't need anyone to make a study to find out that one apple a day is good for you (and similar stupid studies they like to do).

I am NOT having sex either way........my DH feels the same way. Baby is SO LOW it would feel wierd and at this point it would hurt as hell....

My midwife asked me yesterday about how i felt about sex to bring labour on - i looked like this
no chance of anything being poked around there at this stage - i've pulled my groin / pelvic muscles so many times this pregnancy - so NO POKEY POKEY

I have been taking EPO orally - i tried it the 'other way' and it umm, clears my bowels quite effectivley

I have some herbs that i've been taking and should have started my homeopathic remedies yesterday but i keep on forgetting.

I'd like to have the baby now so dh can be off of work looking after ds because the poor child is driving me nuts.

i read about the taking man juice orally on the radical midwives website - maybe i could get dh to supply an i could add it to a smoothy

Should not you be putting in into your vagina?
