I usually just post on my ddc. Sometimes I read the posts here. I'm hoping you have some words of wisdom.
DD is 3 years 9 months old. She's always been advanced with language and physical skills and usually she can be (somewhat) reasoned with. Starting at about age 2 she starting fondling her nipples. Constantly. At first we (dh and I) ignored it. It has progressed to doing it constantly. I mean her shirt isn't down 5 minutes during the day. And she's started other things too. She puts objects against herself, tries to put other people's hands on her nipples, and recently she's started touching her crotch. The other day I was making dinner and she and her brother were watching a tv show. I went into the family room to sit with them while dinner cooked (I can see them from the kitchen anway) and she had her underwear off, spread eagle, playing with herself.
For the last few months I have been telling her that touching her "girl parts" is private and she can do it in her room, alone, and that's it. No one else is to touch her and she is not to touch herself with objects. I send her to her room several times a day for this. It is driving me nuts. I can't even describe how dh loathes it and wants to actually punish her for it.
I've read that some self exploration is normal but this seems beyond that. Please advise.
