The day we discovered my red eared slider ran away (that sounds really dorky.. my turtle RAN AWAY
) we went to view a house for sale nearby.
Dh told me to hold out my hand, and when I did he put two tiny brown frogs in it! I LOVE frogs!!!
Petsmart guy told me they were gold tree frogs, and Petco guy said they are possibly 'brown peepers'. They don't seem like tree frogs to me though because they don't suction to anything and I haven't seen them climb at all. The little one did climb a twig I had in there trying to climb out but he gave up.
Mostly they sit on the bottom, looking like little bull dogs. You know how bulldogs sit with their 'elbows' turned out and their feet turned in? They sit up like that.
They are brown on top, brown speckled white on the bottom with a dark stripe down their bellies.
One is about the size of a quarter and the other a penny. Little bitty things. But so cute! Anyone have any idea what they might be? Frogs? Toads? I tried to take a picture but they are so small they didn't come out..
We're near Dallas in Texas. They were found in a backyard in dry dry dry grass and leaves near the foundation of the house. No water around at all!
