Nazri is so beautiful. I'm disappointed she didn't win the fashion shoot. Marilinda had too much drama going on, and then the fainting spells or whatever. I was a bit put off by her & Jeffrey's relationship.

I totally agree with you. I think Jeffery definitely got the short end of the stick on some of his models. They were not working it at all. A lot of really stiff frankenstein style walking. It was too bad.

I actually agree with the judges decision. Jeffery seemed the most innovative and edgy to me. All 4 had distinct styles, but I think Jeffery's was the freshest perspective.

I really like all 4 styles, Uli is breezy, Laura is sophisticated, and Michael is hip. I did agree that Michael's collection was the least strong of the 4. I was watching and rooting for Michael big time, he was my absolute favorite. But my heart sank when I saw it walking down the runway, I didn't think it showcased Michael's strengths at all. My feeling is that Michael is still young and formulating his design point of view. And I think he did really well with direction and a specific goal in the challenges, but without such specific parameters, I think he had a harder time. I think he will do fabulously as he develops, I cant wait to see what happens with him and everyone else.

Has anyone been following the Project Rungay blog? It's so awesome!

is Laura working for Louis Vuitton (sp?)? I clicked on her link for 'designer's website & that's what came up?!

ugh, beating a dead horse, but in that case, it would have been a lot more dignified if she'd just SAID "respect."

I just want to clarify something, it was Amanda (Alison's model in the first challenge, Katherine's in the next two, and Kane's in the rest of the challenges.) who had those constant fainting spells, Marilinda only fainted/got sick in the last challenge, from what I heard from the reunion show.

I noticed too that a lot of the models at Bryant Park were terrible! I was sort of suprised, but I guess Project Runway isn't exactly the hot ticket for new models. I mean, they could be doing Versace or Project RUnway..... So I guess they get the new/inexperienced/not good models to choose from. As PP noted, the model wearing Jeffery's long blue dress was HORRIBLE! I actually thought the dress wasn't too bad and it mainly got torn up by the judges due to the lousy modeling.

I personally liked Miralinda - thought she really worked a lot of the clothes well. Nasri maybe is a bit better, but she has more drama and height working in her appearance too.

Laura's collection looked very expensive, didn't Michael Korrs comment that it looked like $30,000? I did notice the model's underpants showing through on one of the black lace dresses.

Michael's collection didn't look very expensive at all, where did he spend the $8,000 budget? I noticed the fly wasn't laying flat on one of the white pants.

Jeffrey's collection had some incredible details.

Uil's collection was definately bumped up a notch (or 2).

The auctions have ended for the final collections, totals were (I hope I added them up right):

Laura's Final Collection $13,322.90

Uli's Final Collection $13,225
http://projectrunway.auction.seenon....hp?category=51

Jeffrey's Final Collection $10,490
http://projectrunway.auction.seenon....hp?category=48

Michael's Final Collection $4,587
http://projectrunway.auction.seenon....hp?category=50

Laura wins for the highest selling price on one outfit, her Design #12 sold for $4,500, remember all the hand beading she did?

Something to ponder---one of Laura's dresses sold for $4,500 & Michael's whole collection sold for $4,587...interesting huh?

Ouch, kinda hurts. In a way it makes sense...Laura's clothes were much more wearable, I think, and they just seem so mature. Michael is a good designer but I would really love to see him in 10 years. I think he is still finding his point of view.

Have all the winning designers been in their 30's? I know Jeffrey's 36. How old was Chloe when she won? How old was Jay?
I thought Jay was younger, in his 20's. I could be wrong.

Looks like Jay was 29 (during taping of the show in summer 04), found it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project...%28season_1%29

Chloe was 33 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project...%28season_2%29

Lots of info on season 3:

At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Runway I found this:
Project Runway Season 4 has been announced and they are looking for 15 designers.

I'm honestly not surprised - I was more surprised that people were upset that Michael didn't win. I never expected him to win, I loved him as a *person* but as a designer, he just isn't that good yet! He's yet to find his groove, and he wasn't great at sewing things together, and his runway collection was a hot mess, especially compared to the other 3 designers collections.

Laura may have a very set way she likes to design, but hey, if you only do one thing, you may as well do it exceedingly well. She may be in a "manhattan rich woman clothing" rut, but she does it remarkably well, and with such finesse.

when I saw Laura's collection I felt as though I was in a fashion museum looking at historical pieces.

I was upset that Michael didn't win, but it was more a disappointment that he didn't step it up and wow the judges so he WOULD win. I'm not surprised his whole collection only sold for $4500. When you've got 3-4 of the industry's top fashion people saying it looks bad and that it was amateur and disappointing, it's not going to sell. He was the only one who was berated like that about his final collection. Everyone else recieved praise, so it's not that big of a shock to me.

I know this thread is super old, but I always check the Project Rungay blog and look what I saw today......

It's the boys with Laura's youngest boy and they're slinging! And is that baby wearing longies?

Anyway, super cute baby and the blog is so fun!

Babies, Babies, and more Babies...

What a cute baby boy!

I'd been wondering if Heidi & Laura had there babies yet.

Sounds like Laura was a couple weeks late!
