Natural Heartburn Remedies?

Everything I eat gives me heartburn, EVERYTHING.

I need some natural remedies that are tolerable (and safe) for the pregnant woman. Nothing crazy, it'll make me vomit which is just as bad as the heartburn.

Thanks!

If you haven't already you'll want to cut out caffeine and dairy.
Papaya helps - you can eat it fresh, dried or in tablets.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. Haven't had caffeine in ages. I don't care for dairy and haven't been able to stomach it either. The tablets might be best for how I'm feeling.

nak

the only thing that worked for me was apple cider vinegar - a tablespoon straight with a glass of water for a chaser. Other people mix the water and vinegar and drink that, but i just wanted to get the taste over with. The idea is you trick your body into thinking there is plenty of acidic stuff in your system, and it doesn't need to produce any more.

Papaya tablets worked for a while, but started to lose effectiveness on me toward the end of my pregnancy.

good luck! heartburn sucks. and i've been sad to learn that though it has vastly improved postpartum, it has not disappeared entirely (I had never had it before being pregnant, and was eager to return to that state!)

I had it awful through pg #1 - couldn't sleep. The only thing that ever worked for me was gaviscon. Not a natural solution, but more effective than anything else i tried.

Suprisingly Sour things and dill pickles seem to work for me on a very temporary basis. mostly Im just here trying to see what others suggest.

I've heard that apples neutralize the acid, so you could try nibbling on some slices when you have heartburn, if your stomach could handle it.

Sour Patch Kids was the only thing that worked for heartburn and all day...I mean morning sickies!

Slippery elm powder mixed with some hot milk. Drink Fast! If you prefer you can flavor it like oatmeal.

I had terrible heart burn with my first and its the only thing I found that worked. Last all night long
