So why is the Breast Best?

Thread Starter
I'm doing a round up article on why the breast is best and want to make sure I haven't missed anything vital. So list your reasons, links, thoughts etc. I'm particularly interested in the recent science on immunology etc - I recall more than I've currently got listed but can't find the articles to back up my very fuzzy memories.

The article is broken down into:

Best For mom-

Best for years 1 and 2-

and Best for year 3 and beyond-

I live in a crunchy place

Thanks!

Breast is *not* best! I'd phrase it some other way, to be honest.

Like, top ten reasons to breastfeed year 1, 2, 3. Or, Breastmilk, the gold standard for infants... for toddlers...and beyond. Or something.

Can someone please post the "watch your language" thing again.

Anyways for a good start with studies, I suggest the 101 reasons at promom.

Here ya go. http://promom.org/101/index.html

And good luck with the article! Link us up when you get it published!

Agreed with the phrase "breast is best." No breast is normal, everything else is less than optimal.

I'd also look to the article that talks about BF for one day, one week, six weeks, etc. I don't have a link, but I think that would give you a lot of information that you would want for your article, since you're talking BF well into toddlerhood.

Agreed, breast isn't best, it's standard. Everything else is substandard.
