Went to the doc today, and got our birth plan approved, much to my relief. See, we switched practitioners a few weeks ago. I would have been giving birth at a different hospital than the one I gave birth to DS in, so we went to check it out. I was pretty freaked out because of how noisy and hectic and bustling the place was. Plus they didn't have any private rooms and I was warned by a nurse in L&D that they were so busy that I shouldn't be surprised if labor became a syncronized event! Unfortunately, my MW only has privileges at that hospital. Sooo...we switched to our FP so I could deliver at my previous hospital. Fortunately, she's really open-minded and provides pretty midwife-like care. She was totally fine with everything on our birth plan (including no IV, no fetal monitoring) and faxed a copy of it with her signature on it to the hospital before my appt was over. I'm glad we're with her. She's DS's pediatrician, too, and is just fantastic with him. He always comes marching out of her office with a tongue depressor in each hand!
