If it is only one pill per day, there is no way this is a truly food based vitamin. Somewhere in Traditional Foods are Your Best Medicine Dr. Ron talks about how the companies can get away with saying their vitamins are food based even though they are not. I took a protocol from Standard Process for pregnant women, and it was at least 50 tablets a day. You can only concentrate food so much, and can't fit much in a tablet. He mentioned two other whole food brands... one was called Mega Food and I don't remember the other.

Greens, Algaes, Amla

Besides CLO and BO, I recommend to take greens as your supplement:

Spirulina - the best vegetarian protein source, all 9 amino acids, GLA (also found in breastmilk), most of B vitamins and many many more. That is beside chlorophyll that is essential.
or...
Chlorella - must be cracked-cell. Has twice as much of chlorophyl then spirulina, takes out heavy metals out of your body, but not as nutrient filled.

Barley grass or Kamut/Wheatgrass

One thing I know is I know my greens. Ask about any, I will know.

Amla - the best and the most aboundant in natural Vitamin C out of all plants in the world. Indian gooseberry. Excellent to keep your immunity nice and strong during winter months.

Golden Flax seeds

PS: not a big fan of multi-vitamins, even the best kind. Too many things in one.

I'm also worried about taking a multi with synthetic A plus all the CLO and other vit A sources in the NT diet. I do everything but eat the actual meat. I even bought Dr Ron's liver and organ capsules but haven't yet been able to try them. I'm about 8 weeks pregnant and have some morning sickness.

At any rate, I just bought Dr Ron's Best multi and see that it has quite a lot of CoQ10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I read conflicting things online. Does anyone know whether these suplements are ok during pregnancy?

I wouldn't start a supplement with alpha lipoic acid during pregnancy. It significantly mobilizes several heavy metals. We call accumulate various heavy metals just through daily living, and unless you've done specific work to get them out, now is not the time to start, IMO.

I went to an ND with the hopes that she could direct me to a true whole foods supplement. She recommended Da Vinci prenatals but someone posted a link that showed it is high in lead! I am about to give up on a multi.

I take Blue Ice high vitamin CLO and Healthforce Nutritionals vitamineralgreen. I think I need some folic acid though since I plan to get pregnant soon. Does anyone know about sublingual (spelling?) folic acid tablets? They have them at TJ....
