Same here! I can't believe how much Elijah's legs have changed. They were so tiny and skinny when he was born and now they're really starting to plump up!

Cute pics too!! He's adorable!

NCJen... I know what you mean about the circus in the car! Judah hates his carseat and screams the entire time we're riding. Zion (my 2y/o) has never hated his carseat, but now it drives him CRAZY that the baby is screaming every time we get in the car so he screams too and yells "stop baby STOP!!!!!". It sounds like a total nightmare in the car. I just have to laugh it off or I would lose my mind and get in a wreck

As far as pumping for the purpose of outings (not working), I pump a couple times a week after DS falls asleep for bedtime. That way, my body has enough time to produce enough for his feeding since he won't be waking up for a little while (longer than he would sleep during the day). I've got quite a little freezer stash going, but haven't used any yet as I'm going to wait until 6 weeks before attempting to give him a bottle. Although... I have to keep in mind that DS1 refused any and all types of bottles, so the freezer stash may all be for nothing.

Talula is 1 month old today. Where has the time gone?

Here are some photos. I tried to act like a professional photographer for Anne Geddes:

And some others:

Hope everyone else is having fun!

Wow, Candice, Talula holds her head up really well for only a month old!! I don't think Anna holds it up that well while she's on her tummy yet, and she's 5 weeks. And the shirt -- too funny! I got a flashback of Patrick Swayze (is that how you spell his name?)

Anna did, though, ROLL OVER the other day! Woah... that surprised me.

Talula is adorable!

Love the shirt too, I was flipping channels tonight and caught the last bit of Dirty Dancing... really brings you back!

Behny peed hiself in the face, mouth and all, for the first time yesterday.

He's starting to discover his hands and is holding his head up really well too. He also copies me when I stick my tongue out at him, its so cute!

I'm waiting, impatiently, for those first *real* smiles!

Candice, love the pics. Harper has that shirt too!

5 w, 2d today. Harper has been fussy and "power eating" all weekend, and I think we're in a growth spurt. She did the 3 week one a few days early too. I'm also wondering if she may have a bit if reflux, as spitting has increased to go with the crankiness. I started a diary of what I eat and when she fusses to see if there's a pattern. She's been making really awful grunts and snorts in her sleep, and it's getting worse, so I'm afraid she's uncomfortable. It keeps us up, and she seems like she's not getting restful sleep. We're thinking of getting the Amby bed. Anyone have that?

Sweet sweet harper! Love those laughs! Ruby still hasn't started laughing per se.. and I can't seem to catch a smile on camera... but they are there.. subtle, but there

We spent 6 hours int he car yesterday... 4 on the way to the beach, adn 2 back. Yeah.. that was FUN!!! Actually, Ruby did quite well. Oh... boobie calls!

Cute pictures, Helen. I can't wait until Talula starts smiling (on purpose).

We just had a hard night last night. I had a fever of 101. I don't know what my problem was, but I was super achy and exhausted. I stood up and almost fell over and I realized, "Wow, I don't feel so good." So I took my temp. Talula didn't have a temp. Today I'm fine, but Talula cut me no slack while I felt like crap. Usually she goes down for the night at around 9 or 10. But last night she cried for three hours straight and was fighting the boob and I finally rocked her to sleep around midnight. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if I didn't feel like such crap.

Anyway, I still have some bleeding. It's very light and not even every day. Does anyone know if I should be concerned? I guess I'm supposed to go see the doctor at six weeks pp, but should I call her sooner? I can't remember how long I bled after Tania.

cute pics everyone!!!

J.C is 3wk today. He's really trying to hold his head up when I hold him at my shoulder. He's such a strong little boy! I swear he's smiling already, I refuse to believe its gas Im going to have to upload some more pics so I can share too

candice, do you think you might have mastitis? fever, she's refusing to nurse...how do you feel lately? better I hope

I want to start pumping too, just for those "in case" moments. It would be nice to maybe catch a movie or something like that in the future. We've not even tried a bottle, but having some bmilk on hand isn't a bad idea at all....
Candice -- I would wonder about mastitis as well. Do you have any sore breast spots? Of course, the best thing to do is nurse nurse nurse! Oh, and I still have a touch of bleeding here and there. Not much at all, and I told my midwife and she said the second time around you bleed longer... not sure why. She said as long as it is within that 6wk. marker there is no concern.
Yeah, so I think I have mastitis, but it seems to be getting better on its own. After reading the responses above, I looked at the askdrsears.com website and it looks like I was doing everything that I should have been doing to make is go away: rest, drink water, nurse, try to eat well. I don't have a fever anymore. I did have a painful breast area, but the pain seems to be getting better.

Is it weird that getting sick makes me feel like a failure? Like I can't handle the responsibility of taking care of a baby, the rest of my family, and myself.

In other news, I stupidly threw both slings in the wash at the same time, so I have been wearing Talula in a sarong all day. I just tied it at my shoulder. I think it's the most comfortable thing ever. I like it because it covers my whole shoulder, so it doesn't dig in anywhere.

Judah was born 2 days after Talulah and I'm still bleeding every day... Not an enormous amount, but like the last couple days of my period. I'm SO sick of it though. I wish it would stop. With DS1 I think I bled the full six weeks (stopped the day before my 6w checkup IIRC) and then it came back again for a few days at around 8 weeks. :

Behn was born on the 23rd and I'm still bleeding too. I only really "bled" for about the first week, and I've just been spotting ever since. I only bled for 3 weeks with dd... I didn't know bleeding lasts longer the second time, good to know, I was starting to worry as well!

That's pretty much the exact same for me. And Elijah was also born the 23rd
I wish it would stop all together though. It's so annoying to STILL have to wear a darn pad. Ugh.

If that makes you weird, I'm weird too! When I had anemia really badly (down to 7.8) I couldn't really do anything but sit and nurse Mikey. I *hated* it. DH had to do everything around the house and take care of the older 3 kids. I felt awful. Guilt on top of illness. Of course I would have told anyone else something along the lines of "this is God's way of forcing you to rest and relax as you deserve" but haha - easier said than done when it's you feeling useless, yk?

mama! Hope you feel better soon...

Thank you mcimom.

We took Talula for her 1 month dr. visit and she's 11 lbs., 13 oz. I couldn't believe it! She's gained 4 lbs., 3 oz. since birth. That's more than double her original body weight. That breast milk, I tell you...it's some incredible potion.

nak

hello, all! i love reading about yr babes. i dont get to the comp much these days. hands full! can't wait til school starts again in august so the older ones will be out of my hair and less bored with me, lol.

ellie will be 6w on saturday! we're supposed to move that day too. friday is #1's bday and we're having a sleepover with 3 of his friends. no rest for the weary :

ellie's doing great. no more colicky evening fussies, tho she decided to hate the car this week after loving it for a month. so frustrating driving around with a screaming babe. esp. when #2 is yelling, "hush, baby!" and singing twinkle, twinkle at the top of his lungs in an attempt to calm her.

she seems to have a wee bit of thrush, so i think we'll try the grapefruit seed extract like everyone mentioned. i've been on probiotics since day 1. no mastitis so far, knock on wood.

tmi warning: i've stopped bleeding, but i stink down there! should i try douching? i don't have a well woman check up until aug 22.
oy - we got the thrush too - i'm doing just yogurt in the mouth and that and ACV on the boobs for now as i only notice it in his mouth - no pain or symptoms on me so far and he doesn't seem too bothered - i gotta admit though, i'm half tempted to try the GV b/c i've been on ruby's blog - korin, she is too cute w/that purple mug!! i am ruby-smitten i tell ya...after 3 girls prior to mikey, i guess she's giving me that adorable baby girl fix since it's all greens and blues and puppy dogs here

cymbeline - don't know what to tell you, i noticed some "off" scent on myself for a bit after the bleeding, but it went away b4 i thought to do anything about it...sorry
post #40 of 59
oh and I wouldn't douche unless it was with yogurt or the apple cider vinegar or something 'au naturale' like that
