Wooohooo! Were back! How did everyone do during these past few days? Any new symptoms or developments? What did you all do (besides hitting refresh a lot )?

Here's last week's thread in case you need to catch up.

I for one am stoked that MDC is back up. I was having some major withdrawal. : In the past few days I started feeling pretty darn pregnant. Even tossed some cookies yesterday and I think I see where my uterus might be trying to pop out. Oooh, and I bought some diapers and my sister dropped off the first installment of her Bugaboo that she's handing down to me. : Can't wait to hear from everyone!

I picked up some Sea Bands to help with the nausea. I guess they help a bit, but they also really irritate my wrists, so I'm not wearing them constantly.

My son turned 4 yesterday! This also means that he's totally weaned, since I gave him until his birthday to stop nursing.
I made it through the family party without anyone asking if I was pregnant (though I think my foster sister suspects that my short haircut is a pregnancy cut, though I cut it before getting pregnant - she just hasn't seen me in a while.)
My grandma is psychic, so she knows I'm pregnant. I just won't give her the satisfaction of confirming yet. She keeps bugging me, though. And she even told me how far along I am. She also said I'm pregnant with a boy, though I feel like it's a girl - we'll just have to wait and see on that one!
My husband's being a jerk and not being very supportive. He's coming up with excuses to not be around in the evenings. I'd rather he not be here if he's going to be a jerk, anyway. Though, I could really use some help getting ready for the kids party on Saturday. I'm TIRED! Oh, well. I think everyone will survive if the bookshelves aren't dusted..

I hear you with the being tired thing. I am so exausted. Its getting very hard to sleep, but I am soooo sleepy.

My DD just had her 7th Birthday on monday so that was a lot of fun, and work . She is growing up so fast!

I have been a little queezy, I am hungry, eat two bites and then I am stuffed. Also my pants are almost not buttoning now, I have to squeeze into them. I give myself about a week and then they will be in the pile of clothes I dont fit into. I think thats about it though. I have been doing pretty good all around.

Hi welcome back everyone! I got so behind last week I didn't even post in last week's chat thread.. I'm just tooooo sick! Wow, it's bad! I've got the sea bands/B6/ginger/etc thing going but yikes. Poor dd, she is really learning the art of entertaining herself -- and here's to hoping I still have a job after all this, and that my house won't be condemned from the horrendous mess that has developed. It's really hard to go through this but I know it is so completely totally worth it and I'm blessed to be here. Vividly dreamed last night that I had a breech baby that I delivered myself after zero contractions, it was a boy, and he spoke in full sentences at one day of age. I'm not sure if I can use a dream like that to count as a "boy" vibe... but I think I will anyway.

Debi, happy birthday to your son. Our children are close in age. I was not even able to throw her the regular big thing this year, so tons of kudos to you for putting together the parties! Crazy about your grandma!! I am SO sorry about your husband!

Candi, happy birthday to your dd! Glad to hear things are going well!

Paisley, thanks for starting this thread! Sorry to hear you're feeling so sick; sure wish we didn't have to go through that part.

Glad to be back! I'm feeling considerably better about the prospect of having another baby, which is good. And definitely feeling pregnant. My constant need for food is unbelievable -- it's not just feeling a bit hungry, it's like, "If I don't get a cheeseburger RIGHT NOW, I am going to pass out." I've had this with both of my other pregnancies as well. It doesn't lead to a moderate pregnancy weight gain, let me tell you...

I'm still feeling very very sick. It also doesn't help that I ate some moldy strawberry jam that I instantly threw up yesterday! DH keeps asking if it's normal to be so sick. I'm pretty sure it is. I remember being sick with DD, I just don't remember how bad it was. He also keeps asking when I'll be better. I keep telling him in five weeks when my first trimester is over! And poor DD, I lay on the couch all day trying to entertain her the best I can. Getting up to do anything is so hard! Luckily my sister lives near by so she plays with her for a couple of hours a day. My sis and FIL are the only ones who know we are pregnant at this point.
I'm still getting super dizzy when I stand up. I kind of blackout for maybe 5 or 10 seconds where I have to hold on to something so I don't fall. I'm not sure why this is happening. I'm taking my vitamins but eating and drinking very little.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well!!!

Starting to feel more pregnant here too! SOOOOO tired and hungry, but feeling full after eating about half of a serving what I would normally eat. Gas cramps too (sorry, TMI)

Told IL's for MIL's birthday last week and they were super excited! Still haven't told my fam, including my sister that lives with us: Waiting until this coming up weekend probably.

Yesterday was DH's birthday, he turned 21! And decided he wanted to go to Hooters for his birthday dinner: I don't really have a problem with Hooters, but I was not loving any of the food there so I got kind of cranky. He had four of his buddies go with us and they had a great time joking around and having their pictures taken with the waitresses.

Well, that's about it for me. We're boring

Where's my link to here from last week's thread?? And what about an embryology progress report? SHEESH Paisley, can't you do anything right?!

I'm so exhausted I'm WAY behind on my duties for the Babywearing Conference. : And nauseas, definitely, but no vomiting yet. knocks on wood

More later - I'll tell you about the continuing saga of moving all our stuff across an entire continent. Fun! For now, must go make lunch (before I pass out!).

Ok Arwyn, I got the link to last week's thread up but you'll have to post the embyo report for us. Too much math for me to figure out what week everyone's at right now.

Hi everyone!
I signed in on the roll-call thread, but haven't really written much of an introduction or anything - so here goes:
My name is Jodi, I'm 28, Dh is 31. We are pregnant with our first - an probably only bio child, but we plan to adopt later.
I am a teacher for at-risk pre-k kids for our county public schools.

This pregnancy is not going very well so far. I knew going into it that it may be difficult for me to even get pregnant (because I'm on meds for hypothyroid and a prolactin secreting tumor - but the tumor has been gone for a few years). Anyway, I started charting my temps about a year ago, and started TTC 2 cycles ago. My charts showed a probable Luteal Phase Defect/Progesterone deficiency - so I made an appt. with the RE for the end of my 2nd cycle. Got pregnant on our 2nd cycle. Infact I found out the morning of my RE appt. BUT I started spotting heavily that day and the doc did my HCG & prog. blood tests. My HCG was ok for being only 14 dpo, but my progsterone was only 3 when it should have been over 15.
SOOO. I spent all last week getting my arm poked -and being told the worst - that I may not have a fetus growing, and if I do it may be ectopic since my HCG numbers were only increasing at about %70 instead of %100.
I had another test on MOnday and my numbers are now increasing at %90, which is much better, and I have an appt. for an ultrasound on Friday to rule out ectopic. I'll be 5w4days then. I'm %99 sure I'm due on March 20.
Well that's my story, sorry it's long - and I hope i get to stay here!

I'm starting to feel pregnant! This morning I had MS, and I'be been feeling a bit queasy all day. I hope that it's not as bad as last time, but we'll see... I'm overall feeling much better than I was with DS, though!

I just put on my seabands a few minutes ago, I'll see how they work. They didn't at all last time, so we'll see. I'm up for trying anything, though. I really don't fancy :Puke -ing all 9 months again!

Hi All!
I can't believe how great I am feeling, (knock on wood). I'm only 5 weeks along, but it is weird. I was sooooo sick with my first DS by this point. I pretty much barfed for 13 weeks straight, then it dissapeared like clockwork. I feel totally normal at the moment.

My boobs feel totally the same too, (maybe b/c they have been tender right through from pre-preg from being pinched prodded and poked by still-nursing DS 2/12, and are always full from same...). The only symptom I've had is some tiredness, (but not like the bone-deep exhaustion with DS#1) and some slight abdominal cramping. Oh yeah, I did have awful heartburn today. No weird hunger though. My belly is verrrry bloated - can't get the pants done up!!! Arg! Why does our belly bloat at only 5 weeks?

It's so different from Pregnancy #1 that I've done 3 pregnancy tests to confirm I'm actually pregnant - another one today! They keep saying yes, but I'm almost skeptical. Well, I guess my period is really late too!

Glad to meet you all. I did find the sea bands helped a lot in Preg #1, and I found eating saltines crackers every 1/2 hour or so helped settle my tummy too. That and hot water with fresh lemon in it.

Hope you all are feeling better!!

Kathy.

Hi all! For someone who doesn't post much, it was surprising how much I missed "checking in" with you all. Nice instant community!

If I could describe how I feel in one word it would be--labile! One minute, I fine, the next starving, the next gagging, the next crying. How strange!

I had a few days of minimal symptoms over the weekend. Even though I know it is normal, certainly scared me. But the nausea has returned with a vengence. I was kind of glad to begin with, but now... I guess I need to be careful what I wish for!

On a different note, I have begun interviewing midwives. I have meeting scheduled at the local birth center and with a homebirth midwife. I am excited to start this journey. Anyone else with suggestions, comments regarding choosing? (Arwyn, I know that you were starting your interviewing process too. Any progress?)

Glad to be back!

Nope! I'm way behind.

I have several names I want to call (including one semi-local MDC midwife), but I'm so crazy with the party I hosted this weekend (total success, btw!), the conference I'm helping with, going down to CA next weekend to see my dad with his new liver and my brother with his new daughter (well, "new" at nearly 3 months old now), the fact that all our stuff from Indiana was supposed to be here no later than today, and now looks like it'll come this weekend while we're gone, and has anyone mentioned complete exhaustion and significant nausea? Yea, I'm a little busy.

I told DP to do it, but at this point, I don't think we're interviewing anyone until mid-late August. Little later than I wanted, but oh well.

We do have a HUGE list of questions to ask, though, when the time comes.

I haven't checked in before. But i just joined this group a little over a week ago.
I knew I was pregnant before taking the test. The crampiness and heavy feeling. The crampiness has gone away. My nipples are a little sore, which makes nursing my 2 yr old interesting. It wouldn't be such a problem if she didn't play with the other side and do gymnastics while nursing. So we are implanmenting a few rules cuz I know it is going to bug me more as time goes on.
I have been tired. But I also have been trying to finish all these projects that I have started. It is going to take me 9 months to finish them. And I know I won't be able to touch them for a year afterwards.
But other than that, fine. Hungry at times. I was blessed with an EASY pregnancy first time around. Last one was nightmarish. But I know it is early for morning sickness. So just keeping my fingers crossed.
We are looking at interviewing midwives. But I am not sure when we are susposed to do this. Any thoughts?

Homebirth midwives generally love to talk to you as soon as you want to (many welcome preconception contact), although frequently they won't schedule the first official visit until 12 weeks or so, at which point a doppler can pick up the heartbeat, if you wish. Some will do earlier, baseline visits (which I'm fond of, as midwifery prenatal care is all about building relationship and providing nutritional and other counseling). But it depends mostly on what you want - I had planned to contact midwives rather earlier than this, just to make sure I got my first pick 'cause midwives around here fill up fast pretty regularly, but no one would be perturbed if I waited until much later.

So glad this is back, having withdrawls especially when it cannot find server me alot. Feeling pretty good just a little nausea and extremely tired oh and constipation!

I thought the clumsies weren't supposed to start for at least another month...

Today, I spilled my entire iced venti drink at starbucks before I could even get the straw in (hey, it wasn't coffee!), knocked it over again when it was half full (managed to mostly catch it that time), tripped about three times, and just now spilled my milk all over the table, partially on DP's work computer.

What the heck??

I am absolutely exhausted It doesn't help that DH has been out of town since Monday
My oldest is in day band camp so I have to drop him off every morning and pick him up in the afternoon. I worked out yesterday and my butt is soooo sore : My toddlers are making me crazy : My 11 year old had a night terror last night and was in my bed from 11-4 when the girls started invading then he left to go to his own room and is still sleeping, bless his heart.
My boobs are sore but that comes and goes. Fortunately, I am not super hungry, don't have many aversions yet and have not been nauseaus But I know it is still early, I am just hoping that it doesn't get too bad. With each of my children I had bouts of nausea but only barfed a couple of times.

I need to do my quarterly taxes today for the business and I am behind on customer orders but I am soooooo tired
