Spinning anyone??

Does anyone here do hand spinning? And if so, do you have any books you would recomend to help a beginner? Or any tips??:

I started out with the aid of

www.joyofhandspinning.com
and a leaflet I printed out from Spin Off magazine's website. To be honest, 90% of it is trial and error anyway trying to find something that works for you.

Are you spindling? Or have you got a wheel?

I was inspired to start after reading High Whorling by Patricia Gibson Roberts. Great instructions and history of handspinning!

I bought a wheel in June and have been trying to do little bits here in there. I borrowed "Hands on Spinning" from the library but haven't found it very helpful. Not that the information isn't helpful but that this just needs to be something my hands learn before I can incorporate book knowledge. It certainly is fun! Good luck!

I have a wheel and I took a class at a spinning/yarn shop. It was a lot of fun. I didn't enjoy the drop spindle all that much but it's just such a"feel" thing. I think it doesn't matter what you start out on, once you get the feel, you'll like it!

I am a professional pet groomer and I have saved beautiful undercoat for years from the animals I groom. I have it all sorted by breed and such in huge bags in my basement. I swear, some day I am going to spin it! I'm a very beginning spinner. It will take me a while to get the knack!
