A good and bad update

Hi mamas,
I had/have ppd and was able to get off antidepressants and onto natural supplements a few months ago. I felt the same as when I was on antidepressants which is so-so.This past month got really bad with my depression though....I had other intensified symptoms also...all over body aches and extreme fatigue being the main ones.

Dh and I decided to call the Recovery Systems clinic in SF (the Mood Cure's Julia Ross runs it). I was telling them about my sympotoms and they are going to test me for hypothyroidism, pyloria, and my adrenals. I have most of the hypohtyroid symptoms according to research I have done, including low waking temps and a long family history of hypoglycemia and thyroid dysfunction.

The good news is that I have an appointment with the clinic next month and they are going to review my extensive blood/saliva tests and then help me actually solve the root physical issue of my symptoms. I really want to be the person I was 2 years ago...I have done the emotional work and I really feel that I have an underling physical problem. The program usually lasts about 12 weeks and then you can start weaning off the supplements and maintain health through a higher protein diet.

I will tell you all how it goes....if you are a pray-er..please pray for this to work.
Thank you,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

That is great news. That clinic isn't *that* far from you, so this is totally do-able. Definitely keep us posted on the tests.

By the way, once I got stable, I started having health problems again and it was the same old nutrients coming back to haunt me. I think you could even end up better off than you were two years ago.

Amanda
