Proactiv? - Page 3

I'm so glad I search for Proactiv and found this thread...before I started my own. Thanks for all the good info, mamas.

Umm, does CLO taste awful?? I'm a little nervous.

Yuck. I hated Proactiv. It did absolutely nothing for my skin but make it worse. The best thing that I ever did was to go completely natural. I use virgin unrefined coconut oil as a moisturizer and these products:

My skin is not perfect, and probably never will be, but it looks better than it has in years.

BTW, I'm sure it would be really easy to concoct your own version of any Uncle Harry's product. I just like their products so much, so I continue to support them.

i have really stubborn acne, and it gets cystic when i don't take echinacea. But i'm always getting compliments because my skin looks good with make-up. However when i'm preg and nursing, it sucks.
the proactive regimine helped when i was nursing my last child a few years ago. but i did see that it was becoming dry and wrinkly. So i switched all over the place. When i'm not nursing, i can get away with just washing 2x's a day. when i nurse, my skin is terrible. i'm guessing its thyroid related, but i've found that if i wash with dr bronners baby, tone with witch hazel, and use a moisturizer of half jojoba and half proactive moisturizer, my skin stays clearer. tto makes me break out, and baking soda really provides to be a gentle and effective exfoliator which also calms inflamation and draws water out of pimples. can i get a moisturizer that would have the soothing and drying properties of proactive moist. Golden seal maybe?

BTW, my oily skin stopped being oily when i stopped using commercial soaps and moisturizers and switched to oil. even just oil, as long as i used some kind of toner first. even when i oil washed. I was amazed.

I tried the discount store knockoff version of proactiv and really noticed a difference. You can get it at Target or Costco.

Also, if you have an endocrine problem like hypothyroidism you will get adult acne. I never had any problems with my skin until this happened in my 30s and that was the first time I ever had to use anything other than nutrogena.

People in my thyroid group tell me my skin will stop acting up once I'm at my proper thyroid levels again, so we'll see.

After doing a lot of trial and error I found that Carley's Clear and Smooth worked wonders. Pregnancy and birth did a number on my skin and now it is finally repairing itself and getting better after almost 3 week sof using this line.

And while it isn't completely natural it is closer than a lot of skin care lines out there. The soap is truly wonderful and the mositurizers are great as well. If you do try this line follow the directions precisely.

They also have an ebay store that is really resonable I paid $56 including shipping for 4 bars of soap, daytime and nightime moisturizer and the actual treatment itself. They threw in a couple freebies which always makes me happy. This should last according to reviews I have read close to 6 months and the customer service is wonderful.

I don't mean to soud like a salesperson but after trying nearly all of the "natural" remedies I was still left with terrible skin, this really really helped.

: I wonder how long it can take to see results before you figure out it's not working. I've heard conflicting stories with ACV and acne:

For a nice acne wash, I combined Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser with some tea tree oil and some baking soda - works really well. For more details:
