Diva cup troubleshooting

O.k. I have been using my Diva cup for hmmm...2 years I think, maybe a little less. Ihave had no real trouble except minor leak issues at the very beginning of my period, but that's due to a heavy flow and not timely changing.

Anyways...on to my dilemna. On my past 2 cycles(the last one and the one right now) I have been having major leak issues. So much so that I have reverted to using tampons.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening or ideas of what my be a fix? I was wondering if it is possible that a slight change in the cervical opening could be a cause. Just FYI-sadly there is no sexual activity in my life so that would not be a cause in the change in fit.

Do I need to get a new cup? Do they "go bad" or get mishappen?

You DO know that you are not supposed to put the Diva Cup near your cervix, right? (just checking).

It's my understanding that they should last about 10 years. I read that at their site, IIRC.

The only thing I can think of is that it's not totally popping open.
I have thought that mine is open, only to use a finger to check and then notice one side is squashed a bit.

The side holes are clean right?
I think those help it to pop open.

So I did a little experimenting with where I was positioning it and things seem to be o.k. now. I am now positioning it a little lower(we're talking very minor adjustment kwim) and giving it a little "spin" once it is in position. This seems to have fixed it.

Think it might be a combo of changes in my body and also "laziness" from being so used to using a diva cup.

The "spin" you speak of has been the difference between leaks and no leaks for me. If I give it a twirl, I never get a leak.
