Support Thread for trusting baby's timing - Page 10

It is hard not to listen to all the nay-sayers out there...

I am "only" 5 days post my due date, but I'm on a more mainstream pregnancy board, and they are all shocked that my midwives would "let me" go 2 weeks over. One of those girls had a stillbirth at 42 weeks, so I can almost understand her words. But, add that to all the people from work (who call every day, just sure that I haven't let them know about the birth), who just can't believe I am still pregnant.

The ironic part is that I am a CNM, I work in a clinic, and we don't induce anyone until they are 41 3/7 weeks. Why am I so different?!?

My parents call every day....Just anxious. I was overdue, as were most of the babies in the family, so it's not unusual, they are just anxious. But, they are making me nuts!!!: Like I wasn't close enough to nuts anyway.

So, anyway, that's my rant for the day. Just ready to meet my baby!!

Hugs Betsy. I am only 4 days past my "date" and I'm feeling other people's pressure as well. Everyone want this baby to born when they feel its time! "my vacation starts the day after labor day. You better have that baby before then". For my sanity, I hope that I have the baby NOW so that DH and I have a few days alone before all of these crazy people arrive at our door step! I HATE when people ask how long they're gonna "let you" go. No one is going to "let" me do a darn thing!!! I feel your pain and your need to rant. I want to meet my little one too! It's sooooo hard to not be anxious. Moms that go in for their inductions *before* their "due dates" have it soooo easy!!!! They don't have to wait on anything : I know a lady that was due after me and she already has her babe. It's hard not to be a little jelous, but the doc convienced her that babe was going to be too big to deliver vaginally so they went ahead and did a section early : yup, you guessed it 8 lbs 5 oz of baby!!! I'd rather be patient thankyouverymuch! We have to remember that we're doing whats best for babe!!! Think how much better we'll feel after the fact!! sorry...I'm feeling really chatty at 2:45 in the am and DH is snoring!! :
