Astrology Changes 2008-2012 - Page 4

Did anyone else think of this thread when they saw the news that there are a few new planets that have been discovered in our solar system?

Maybe they're here to help.

the whole debate about Pluto is a Planet or Plan-not as I like to say is so funny... personally I think it is a planet and I also believe two more will be assigned to our universe. when that happens each sign will have its own planet.. right now mercury is shared by virgo and gemini and venus is shared by taurus and libra.

So pluto isn't a planet anymore, now what?

(going to google it right now)

nothing to astrologers.. we still handle it the same.

if you google Robert Hand and NPR you'll find a great interview with Hand who is a super astrologer... he explains how calling it by something else won't change its influence... but I do say... poor pluto---needs a new agent.

I found something about in indian astrology, they've never used pluto as a planet. I have friends who are totally into indian astrology, and they've gotten me hooked, but I still wonder which is the most accurate.

subbing......its time for hide and seek now :

Well astrologers were astrologizing before we knew Pluto existed, so it's logical that it wouldn't effect them.

I also find jyotish (Indian astrology) fascinating. I especially love how they have remedies; things you can do to improve the difficult parts of your chart. I like that much better than the really psychological western astrologers who seem to be endlessly digging into one's childhood. The latter seems more fatalistic to me, which is funny because some people claim jyotish is too fatalistic.

I think both jyotish and western astrology can be accurate; they look at things from a very different perspective. It depends on what sort of information you are looking for.

There is a lot that can be done with just the visible lights and planets (Sun Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars Jupiter Saturn). The system, both eastern and western, is very elegant with those 7. I like to use the traditional rulers of signs; Mars gets Scorpio as well as Aries; Jupiter gets Pisces as well as Sagittarius; Saturn gets Aquarius as well as Capricorn. It just makes more sense to me.

That said, I have noticed that when Pluto is transiting my chart very intense things happen. Sometimes I really feel Uranus, too. Neptune... less clear. But that fits, I suppose.

What an interesting thread! Wish I had come around here sooner. lol I too keep thinking about how to prepare. The idea of just following your gut feelings/intuition is comforting to me. My brain could never figure it all out anyway.

a little more complicated than that. Things like Bombs (atomic for one) are ruled by pluto.

but other things more mundane often were associated to Mars. It is strange as society expland and more planets are found it usually links up to some new technology.

I remember reading years ago that another planet would be added soon, when I first heard of astrology, I believe it was the 'true' home for taurus? That was years ago now, but I agree that there is more to be added.

Thanks for all this info, it is very helpful. I never took to the time to finish learning the basics even, much less this much depth, it is great to have your knowledge shared with us

I just got my first astrology calendar and see that I have a lot to learn. I'm starting out slowly. Right now I am following the moon around as I record my dreams so that I can learn the effect of the moon on our dreams. Very very very interesting!

I think watching the Moon is a great place to start. I always return to the Moon. The cycle becomes so clear with just a little watching, and getting in the rhythm feels great!

The moon is divided into 8 phases.....

each phase lasts about 3 days.....

here's the phases and notes about what you should do....

New moon: Plant seeds, make calls, activate things.

crescent: receive information, research, collect data.

first quarter: Do more actions based on the information you've just received, or the research of the calls that have come back to you based on the seeds you planted during new.

gibbous: Refine your information, pick and choose, be "virgo' like, sort through details, organize.

FULL MOON: make the needed adjustments to the things you've planted. Adjust even more to stay on track. Have the needed conversations that might have come up since the planting of the seeds at new and first quarter.

Disseminating: Share information, find a teacher or someone who has more knowldged, get feedback.

Third Quarter: Do the final adjustments to the seeds you planted. The final calls, final letters to send, follow the threads one last push.

Balsamic: Prune, discard, let everything go...ditch stuff....clear the consciousness and unconscious

and then you are back to New moon.

Where we are today is in Third Quarter. So, make the final adjustments based on the things you planted back on August 23-the last new moon (virgo)

The next New Moon is next week. Friday September 22. New Moon in Libra.

here's a great link for following the phases.

Oh and the book

"The Woman's Book of Dreams - Dreaming as a Spiritual Practice" by Connie Cockrell Kaplan

is pretty amazing. It's helping me understand the female connection to the moon and really see how it affects the specific kinds of dreams we have depending what planet it is aspecting and also which zodiac sign it is in. It has charting lessons and suggestions too. Anyone else have this book?
