Where did our picture thread go? I can't for the life of me find it!

Samantha is officially my daughter. She wakes up pissed off.

Seriously, I think I've only seen her wake up one time in the last 17 weeks without crying. She starts to stir and starts whimpering, which turns in to yelling at me (with eyebrows pursed, mind you) until I pick her up.

I am NOT a morning person...apparently that's genetic.

Ok, Im back!! I was in the hospital Last week on Thurs. morning I woke up feeling very dizzy: and nauseous and when I threw up it was all blood!! So my ob's office told me to go the hospital and when we got there my heartrate was at 197. yikes! They can't figure out what was wrong with me on Thurs. They keep me overnight to see a G.I. doctor in the morning and keep me on I.V fluids cuz Im dehydrated (why my heartrate was so high) The G.I docs do a endoscope down to my stomach and I have a healed ulcer and some old blood in my tummy. So looks like I've been bleeding for a while and we didn't know it. Sat. morning Im sure I get to go home cuz G.I doc says tummy looks good, but the ob on staff doesn't want to let me go home cuz my Hemocrit is at 23 (very seriously anemic) and if I were to bleed again (a 30% chance) I could be in serious trouble. They want to do a blood transfusion!!!!! So they do the transfusion and let me go home on Sunday afternoon. I can't believe I was sick and didn't even know it! I just attributed the tiredness to being a new mommy of 3 kids. Well, all is better now. I got to keep J.C with me the whole time. Thankfully!: So the lowdown was 3 things were wrong with me and none of them were related. I was nauseous because I took my Diflucan (thrush med) and a birth control pill (first time I took it, I threw them away now) so thats why I threw up. The blood was from an ulcer in my stomach (never knew it was there, no tummy pain) and the high heartrate was from being severely dehydrated (I forget to drink my water and Its been sooo hot and humid here in Ms)

ok, to catch up.........

Caroline~how scary! Im glad William is doing better.

I'm using a hotsling, and lovin it, but want to try make a wrap to use too, especially as Sam gets bigger and better at actually focusing on one thing. Right now she's content to be curled up in the sling, but I know soon (before she's really capable of sitting up) she'll want her legs out straight, and I think a wrap would offer more support than the sling in the hiphold position.

Also, PICTURE THREAD!!

The reason we haven't seen it is because no one has posted anything since Friday. Come on ladies! Show us those babies!

I'm using a Mamma's Milk sling. I love it but I lost the directions that came with it to do the different holds, and now that she's getting older, I need to figure out how to face her out. Any suggestions?

I think so. DS usually poops once a day, but sometimes he'll go a few days without pooping. When the poop does come -- look out! It usually can't be contained! It's always really liquidy, although sometimes has little seeds/chunks (sorry... I know... gross).

A new native.. just starting to like it.

I ordered my moby wrap! Dan picked out the color (sienna) -- funny guy. I can't wait for it to get here.

Well, time to go on our walk so I'll get my shoes on.

You're gonna love it...or, at least, I love mine. And DD finally loves it, too - she didn't like it so much in the first 4 weeks. Mine's not an official Moby, but it's the same thing, that my parents' neighbor had someone make for me.

I wraps!!! Still like my Maya Pouch for a quick place to pop her in, and haven't used the infantino in a couple weeks I can wear the wrap all day and not even feel the extra weight of having her strapped to me.

Oh - and I'll have pics to post on the picture thread later this week; my girlfriend is here with her 18-month-old all week! We're having a blast!!

Wow, you go away for a few days and miss a LOT!

We just got back from our first big trip with Silas - we flew to NJ for my grandmother's 90th birthday party! All in all it went really, really well - except for our bad start. We were scheduled to fly out on Thursday evening - you know, the day that all that insanity with the terrorists and raising the terror alert level and implementing the "no liquids in the cabin" rule? So we were afraid that the airport was going to be bedlam, but it was actually fine. Then we get on the plane at 6:30 p.m. and get delayed because of thunderstorms over Newark...three times. So at 9:30 they finally cancelled the flight and rescheduled it for 6 a.m. the next morning! Blargh! : Luckily, oh so luckily, Silas slept through the entire thing, just woke up to nurse once. I had been kind of cursing the fact that he would NOT nap earlier that day (he usually does) and I couldn't get any packing done - but it really worked out for the better, since he just passed out for the evening at 6 p.m.! We got there fine the next morning, no hassles. It was great to see my mom and dad again and aunts, uncles, cousins and my nanny (grandma)! Her party was great, she had a fabulous time. I almost had to fight people to hold Silas the whole weekend, he was verrrry popular! Oh and I just have to say that a moby-style wrap is a MUST for flying! It saved our lives, we just checked the carseat and wore him everywhere, it was awesome and we got lots of comments.

Silas will be 8 weeks tomorrow - I can't believe it! So crazy. We still have to schedule our 8 week appt for the doc - we're stalling because we're so on the fence about vaccinations. From the research we've done, it just seems like everyone is either totally for them or totally against them - there's no happy medium. Ugh. I hate decisions like this. It makes my tummy upset.

Oh yeah, one more thing - we had to use sposies on the trip because my aunt has septic systems issues and can't handle much laundry (and is a total germaphobe - I don't think she would ever be able to sleep again if she knew that POOP had been in her washing machine!). DH is kind of the resident diaper changer and I had to laugh when he exclaimed (many times) "I hate these things! I can't wait to get home to get a kissaluv on him!" It was too cute. So glad I have a cloth convert, now I think I'll go plump up my stash!

Korin - happy belated birthday!

Kelly - yikes!! So glad you're ok!

Candice - cute pics! Good luck getting through the next couple of weeks without your DH.

EcoMama - I hear you on the liquid poop! Silas had one SO BIG yesterday that it looked like enough for 4 babies! Yipes!

Bundlefish - cute pics! Your family is beautiful.

Good to hear! I'm really excited. I've been cautious about wearing her much because I really want my diastisis to heal up well. I'm vain and I want my pre-baby rockin' abs back -- or at least a close approximation. She's on me a lot, but it's mostly nursing and sitting together. Therefore... I don't get much done. I know it's going to have a learning curve associated with it, but I'm game. I figure for trips that require car travel I can just put the wrap on before I get behind the wheel and pop her in when we arrive at the final destination... better than the Bjorn!

OK, I'm totally rambling. I've posted a few new pics on our blog.

I forgot to add that about being in the hospital!! We only had a enough cloth to last us the first couple days, then we sent it home w/ my mil and just put sposies on that the hospital had. I couldn't believe unfluffy and papery stiff they felt!!! YUck Yuck! and his bum was so tiny in his clothes, Im usually used to a fluffy bum My dh was surprised at how much he missed the cloth too.

About the sling....

I have a maya sling and pouch and like both. I also have a hotsling which I like, but Im really loving the way the moby looks. My dh tried to wear J.C the other day and just couldn't get comfortable w/ it and said he'd be more comfortable w/ something like a mei tei where the baby's legs hang rather than a pouchy style. But the prices of them are soooo high!! yikes!

Good Morning

I just got a SBP sling (from mountainsun) and we love it. Elijah will sleep in it for hours and hours. I think he was in it for like 10 hours the other day. I got so much done! It's so easy to use and comfy for the both of us. I went out for the first time w/ the kids by myself. (Well it was just up the street to the library..but still! ) He slept the whole time in the sling..we had a good time. I think I really want a moby wrap too. Seeing Korin's green moby has me drooling! Babe looks so comfy!
