So. I'm 4 days overdue, irritable as anything, hopeless and listless and dull. And my mom calls to tell me that she's cancelling our lunch date because she's staying home from work today because they have a new puppy. A 6-week old yorkiehuahua weighing in at 1pound, with possibilities of topping out at a whopping 4 pounds.

With their first grandchild on the way any second (please!!), my parents went and bought a $600 designer puppy to go with their 7-pound, spoiled, ridiculous chihuahua.

What on earth is wrong with these people? : : :

I am in hell.

One day shy of 4 weeks postpartum...and I found my wedding ring! woohoo! I had lost it the week after Nate was born when it became too loose for my pinky finger and fell off either in the middle of the night or when I ws making the bed. I've never had it get tight enough to have to move before, but the last few weeks I was getting nervous that it would get stuck, so I moved it. Well, making the bed this morning I heard a "chink" sound, and it was wedged between the boxspring and the metal bedframe. My husband maneuvered it out and then got down on one knee and asked me if I'd stay married to him.

And equally good news, we bought a new slim booster seat for Ryan, and I removed A.J.'s Britax and gave him Ryan's old one. With the baby seat turned backwards I actually managed to CRAM all THREE carseats into the back of my Honda Civic!!! Hooray! Another 6 months without a minivan!!!!!!!
I really wanted a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, but my husband really wanted a minivan. Well, in his research he found out that there's a hybrid minivan sold in Japan that should be out in 2007. So hopefully we can manage until then!

And I managed to spend a half hour while Nate napped in the same room organizing some scrapbooking stuff (Ryan was happily playing outside by himself and A.J. was napping upstairs). It was good to have my mind momentarily on something non-baby non-domestic task.

Krista - YAY on finding the ring! Mine still doesn't fit, I've had to take mine off during both pregnancies. :

Man, I WISH I knew about the hybrid van! We just bought a new Honda Odyssey and I it, but totally wish it was a hybrid.

on getting all 3 kids in your car. I have a pt cruiser and when we found out I was pg dh said my car would be useless and I'd have to learn to drive the mini-van. I told him 3 carseats can fit in pt cruiser. My sister has 2 kids and had a pt cruiser and showed him how 3 carseats can fit in the pt cruiser. I was all for months, until we had our ultrasound

I still won't drive the van though, I'm too scared :

I just realized that some babies born in our due date club are already *4* weeks old. And I'm still pregnant. That is *very* depressing.

I am 9 days late. Waking up angry every morning that I haven't gone into labor yet. My uterus seems to be going through a pattern of contracting alot (like every 5 minutes) for one day, and then taking a few days off. Well, yesterday was one of her busy days, so today things are quiet again. That means it will probably be a few more days before things could start up again. I want to cry.

I am nearing the 42 week "deadline" for homebirth. I haven't even talked to my midwife about what happens then. That is only 5 days away. :

That's nice that you found your ring! It's even nicer that you still like your husband. Personally, I'm ready to shoot mine. I know exactly where my ring is, I just really don't feel like putting it back on right now. I don't particularly want to LOOK at dh right now much less wear his ring. Nice, huh?

When I was nearing my due date with dd2, I managed to get all three carseats (no boosters - my kids have never had much meat on their bones!) in the back of our Mazda. I was SO incredibly happy. The day we drove our minivan home, dh looked over at me and said, "This is nice." I looked at him deadpan and said, "I have completed my descent into suburbia h#ll." He didn't say anything else to me! LOL.
