Yes, Maria too. She goes ballistic when she can't get something she's holding into her mouth, or if it falls out of her hands. BALLISTIC, I tell you! That makes her madder than anything (including hunger), and it can be really hard to settle her down afterward. Crazy kid.

ds was 5 months yesterday... hard to believe! He's also pretty grabby. He is sitting up (for short periods) on his own and even started to babble. dh is especially excited since he sometimes will say "da-da" (I don't think with any meaning, though sometimes when he says "na-na" I could swear he's shouting "Nurse! Nurse!")

Still not sleeping that well at night - he wakes up three times or so (I'm too sleepy to keep track very well). We're co-sleeping, so it doesn't interfere with my sleep that much, but it would be nice if he could go longer. He's great at putting himself to sleep though - sometimes he nurses to sleep but often, if it's the time of night or day that he usually falls asleep, he'll just do it on his own spontaneously. And even though I never tried to put him on a schedule, he's somehow developed a very regular one.

I seem to remember a lot of us having major icecream issues/addictions/cravings during the pregnancy time. How funny that our children have our same tastes. Sawyer mooches off dh when he is eating chocolate. Oh no, we created another chocolate monster in our family!!!! LOL

Me too, now that you mention it! In any case, I definitely did (and still do) have both an ice cream and a chocolate addiction. I'm eating more than ever. :

Me Too! I can't get enough chocolate or ice cream in me! My dh hates it! He's a health nut-I am so not! I try, but those cravings! And who can say no to chocolate!

Hi Mama's!

Chaal, Samual looks like your humongous monster baby nephew, Bastian, very broad - definitely a boy!

I missed scheduling his 4 month appt in time, he'll be almost 5.5 when he's goes....so I took him to Wegman's & weighed him on the produce scale , at 4 months he weighed 18 lbs, 3 oz & was 28.5 inches long, he is SOOOO long!

Also grabbing for EVERYTHING! I was so close to giving him avocado the other day, he wants food so badly, it's just so new to me, my Dd's weren't interested in food till almost 9 months (which, btw, is when they both weighed & measured what Samwich was at 4 months, such a boy.)

He loves to chew his feet & give me hickies on my arm . If I sit him up, he stays that way for a minute then falls overm so silly.

I thought I had such a big boy, but he's a peanut compared to you guys!! He started out small though. He is so strong with his legs - putting weight on them, and today he got up on his hands and knees. I think he is going to be an early crawler : I gave him a strawberry just to try to see what he would do. He had no clue what to do with it - he squished it and then dropped it. He'll be 5 months this week, and has zero interest in food. Which is fine with me!!

Am I the only one who sneaks into the nap room for the sole purpose of smelling his breath?

Strawberries are pretty highly allergenic so they are generally not recommended as a first food for small babies. Many sources say to avoid them until 1 year or beyond...just fyi.

I knew someone was going to point this out. I wasn't feeding him the strawberry. I was just letting him hold it because its cold and squishy. I would never have let it touch his lips for that very reason.

My DD went up on her hands and knees for the first time today!!! We've had lots of milestones lately... BOTH her bottom two front teeth are now emerging, and she's getting closer to crawling! But she's not letting me sleep much these days...

do i have the smallest march baby or what? noemi was 12lbs 10oz a week ago and she is 5 months old. yikes. i figured she would be small, but she is smaller than abby was at this age. she is happy and healthy though and following her own curve, but still. we missed our 4 month check, so since we don't do vaxes anyway, we will just go in at 6 months.

otherwise she sounds like the rest of the march babes, except smaller! was teething i think, but i made her an amber necklace and it seems to have worked! who knows, but no more drooling everywhere or biting/sucking on everything. pretty weird for a coincidence. anyone else have one?

We got to meet baby Ilze (Birth Junky's daughter) today! What a cute little peanut she is. And she has a pretty cool mama too! ;-)

(*chuckle*) Thanks, Jill! Your daughters are adorable as well . . . Kylie was cracking me up left and right!

So sorry that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye at TJ's; I looked for you as they were ringing up my groceries, but didn't see you. We'll have to get together again sometime soon!

Leo is suddenly examining everything and deciding what's worth looking at and grabbing for.

We'll probably wait until 7 or 8 months before doing solids.

Baby Nicholas just turned 4 months old on the 28th! He is cuter than ever weighing in at 16lbs 12oz and 25 inches long!! He is still ex bf and seems to be showing an interest in foods already Nick is rolling over, grabbing his lil feet (and anything else he can get his little hands on), giggling, and much, much more! He's getting sooo big.... sooo fast!

Till next time

Mini-Rant

Leo has discovered his fingers. He really, really likes to chew them. He chews them before, during, and after nursing. He chews them in his sleep. HE JUST LIKES TO PUT THINGS IN HIS MOUTH NOW and his fingers are pretty convenient!! MIL keeps insisting that he's hungry and I need to feed him more. She makes me feel like I am a negligent mother or something. I just want to tell her to stop saying it.

Anyway! The heat here in Maryland is terrible. I have such cabin fever. What is anyone else doing with their babes to entertain them in the heat? I try to do one or two errands a day in the mornings, but the poor thing gets so overwhelmed and hot and sweaty that he has a melt-down by the time we get finished. He shrieked so loud at the supermarket this morning that people were looking at me like I was hurting him, and a lady came over and said "Honey, do you need me to help you??"
