Positive things about being "overdue"

I'm tired of being tired and cranky, so I thought I'd start a list of all the positive things about being "overdue". Feel free to add your own. Maybe we can cheer each other up!

~When I call someone, they always answer the phone. No screened calls when folks are expecting you to call with baby news.

~I can get out of nearly anything I don't want to do with "my back hurts...I think I did too much today"

~The look on people's faces when they ask you "when are you due" and you say "last week." Why does it shock them so?

~Your dh is guaranteed frequent sex even if you're not in the mood. He will have to do without for weeks, after all.

And, after all, it might get things rolling!!

Great thread idea...I'll add:

~ You still get to wonder and anticipate how the birth will go and who the baby will look like.

~ Anytime you do nearly anything dh asks if you feel okay and can he get you anything.

~ You still get to eat (nearly) whatever you want and not worry about whether or not it bothers the baby in your breastmilk. (I should go buy some chocolate!)

~ The baby is way easier to take care of right now than he will be after he's born.

Big hugs to you overdue mamas...I made lots of jokes to alleviate my frustration like:

a) so and so calls, and I say, oh, hi, I had a beautiful baby girl! It went so fast I didnt have time to call you! just kidding...

b) people would ask, when are you due? and I would say, oh last week, or right now, and then I would gasp and clutch my abdomen (this one just makes me ).

I also remember thinking that this may be the last time I ever experience pregnancy, so I would try to make the most of it...

- I know I am doing the best thing for my baby by allowing him or her to come when he or she is ready.

-Totally unexpected one here - DH and I are seriously considering changing our boy name, which we've had set for 5 years now...

Well, the one joy of pregnancy that I am still hanging on to is....

....I don't need to suck in my stomach!!! My husband can't get enough of my rounded belly. I know that won't last long after the baby is born.

I posted on another list my complaint about being asked if "it was twins" three times this last week. I wish I could take credit for this one, but I can't. She recommended saying "TWINS?? I'm not pregnant..."

Having recently delivered at 41.5 weeks, there's some other benefits:
* when you're ready for labor - you're really ready (physically & emotionally)
* for me all the nesting was great for the house!
* Baby #2 tolerated jaundice better - easier birth experience, but still he looked just as yellow as Noah ( born at 38.5 weeks & 20+ biliruben) who was under the hospital lights and Nathan's levels weren't even high enough for a re-check (15).

Hang in there - it will still be over before you know it!
