So nesting is a REAL thing?!

This is my third pregnancy (I'm due the 22nd) and I never nested with my previous two pregnancies-- or maybe I could say I just cleaned my entire pregnancies because I had time?

So it's 4:30am and I just got done cleaning my house. I woke up at 2am to pee, and thought "Crap, I could go into labor any minute and my house isn't clean!" I kind of feel like a weirdo, because I really don't think labor is coming anytime soon (although I hope I'm wrong!). I guess I'm suprised at this sudden burst of craziness I'm having. I work today, so I can't wait to get home after work to get more stuff done...

It is for me. TBH I am much less than a stellar housekeeper but the normal level of chaos, clutter and/or dirt that I usually am comfortable with drives me absolutely nutso during the last couple on months. What makes it even harder is that I am so freakin exhausted that I can't do any of the things I feel NEED to be done!

Auurrggghhh!!!

That's funny. I hope you got enough sleep to make it through the day. I made a big list of what I want to get done by Friday. Hopefully I'll get it all done, lol. I want to do something special with dd tomorrow since it's her last day as an only child.

I can't walk past a SPECK of cat hair or dust without swooping down to get it, thinking, my baby can't be born with THAT laying around!!!
It is really funny. Fortunately, I have some time on my hands now!

Oh absolutely! I had a HUGE to-do list and am so impressed at how I'm whittling it down Just this morning I took out of storage and washed all of DD #1's fall/winter clothes and then took her bed apart and put all the pieces away and cleaned the space where it was. She never sleeps in it (she sleeps with me) and her bed was where the labor tub is going to be going in my bedroom so, I had to get it out of the way!

I even have DD #2's co-sleeper all set up, the birth balls inflated (one for me and a kiddie sized one for DD #1), the changing table set up and all the diapers in place. Last week I decided the cupboard under the kitchen sink was too gross (the same place we keep the garbage can and recycling bin) and so I took everything out and cleaned the cupboard. Next on my list is to clean out the refridgerator! Because, you know, the new baby is really going to care how clean these things are!

I must say I am enjoying doing all the chores. It keeps me moving when all I want to do right now is lay my big ol' belly on the couch and put on movies for DD #1. Luckily she gets a kick out of "helping" with the chores, so it keeps us both busy!

Okay. I feel better knowing you're all cleaning, too! I have to admit that I'm not really that tired today- just energized to get home and get more stuff done!

I've gotten most of the major things done, but now I am obsessed with pet hair. I got the furminator brush last weekend from petsmart and fell in love. Then found out the doggies had fleas, so we put the frontline stuff on them and one of the dogs (the really furry one) STILL kept biting at herself, so today I went back to petsmart and got some nice shampoo and conditioner (goes with the furminator brush). Soon I was in the shower, with a 60lb shepard who HATES bathrooms, pouring water over her and making her wait the full five minutes the bottle says for it to be "most effective." : Bending over, squatting, picking her up... the whole time I thought, "maybe I'll start labor today." After her, I did the beagle (much easier) and the cat. I noticed that dogs look cute when they're sopping wet and cats just look hillarious.

Once they're all dry, I'm going to brush them really good again to get as much hair out as I can, then vacuum the house again. I don't want ANY pet hair ANYWHERE.

Normally, it doesn't bother me this much.

My apartment is so clean I have nothing left to do around here but pick at every little spot of dust I see. I went crazy with the car too. My freezer is so full, things fall out every time that I open it. Now I am bored and growing impatient!

Well, my list isn't going to get finished by tomorrow night. I didn't sleep hardly at all last night so ended up napping off and on today with no motivation. I'll try to get more done tomorrow, but I doubt I'll make it through the whole list. Oh well, anything is better than nothing, right?

Absolutely- that's my motto! Sometimes I give myself a hard time to spending more time here, reading w/ my feet up, etc, etc & my house is certainly not tidy (though it is clean)... but I have to keep reminding myself that we are ready to meet this baby... we have everything s/he will need & that's a wonderful feeling.

Yes! That's exactly me. I should do one more load of dishes, the kitchen floor should be touched up, as well as the bathroom and the fish tank needs to be cleaned(dh has to help cause I can't reach the filter). It's nothing major, I'm just being picky. I think I can get these last few things done. But if not, we are ready for the baby and that's all that really matters.
