Yeah baby! 4-5cm and 75% effaced!

Had an appt this morning, got checked for the first time, and the m/w thinks I'll have the baby this weekend. That would work out nicely, b/c dd's 2nd b-day is Friday and we've promised to take her to dinner at Bugaboo Creek and get her a b-day cake. She's so excited, I would hate to not be able to take her. I also lost two lbs from the 4 I had gained, b/c my swelling finally went down a bit. My BP is back to normal too. I'm in a great mood!

Yay you! Here's some for you since I won't be on over the wekend to watch for updates. BTW, my little girl's bday is next Sunday!

Come on baby!

As an aside - my dd's birthday was Monday. Do you think we are just all summer baby kind of women? Seems to me that a lot of us have other kids born in July/August. Do you think we just tend to get pregnant in the fall?

Chiming in becase I'm due on my son's b-day and we had the party last weekend just to be sure he got one (he'll be four, so he's totally into the whole birthday thing).

I think I'm more fertile certain times of the year, but it sounds. . .so. . .canine

I'm not sure about the month thing. I did want my kids to be about two years apart. Boy was I shocked when I got pregnant after less than two months of trying with this one, since it took over a year and Clomid to get DD. The timing worked out nicely though.

Ary99-- this is a total aside comment, but where did you get the name Tabor for your son? I have a friend who named her DD Tabor and had never heard of the name before!

My DD isn't going to be quite as close as some of you who will have two August babes, but she was born in June, so they are two summer birthdays! I think you're on to something about fall being a fertile time . . .

I actually plan for August babies : I just LOVE August. It's ds's birth month, dh and I have our anniversary in August, etc. We'll have 2 August babes as well and we'll be busy planning ds's birthday later this month (27th).

I don't know what's up. Dd was supposed to be a Sept baby and this little one was a complete surprise so there wasn't any planning on our part to have 2 summer babies, lol.

yes i am definatly more fertile at certain times of the year i think. canine dna!! since both of these kids are accidents it certainly is odd that they will be just around 2 years apart. ds was born oct. 4 but was actually due sept. 28. we'll see........

good job with the effacement and dialtion. you certainly won't have much work besides pushing to do!!!

Sooo.... possibly stupid and naive question for those of you who are effectively dilating and effacing, (and congratulations on your progress!!), have you lost your mucus plug and/or had lots of discharge or goo to indicate it has left your body? My midwives offered to give me an exam today, but since I haven't lost anything mildly interesting or gooey, I didn't think I could possibly be dilated or effaced, you know?

This isn't a really good answer to your question, but I've had lots of "interesting" goo and I'm still barely 1cm and not effaced at all. So I'm not sure what it all means.

I lost my mucous plug last week after a particularly violent barfing episode. Since then, lots of interesting goo has shown, especially after my internal yesterday. Believe me, I went back and forth as to whether or not I wanted to get checked, but I just HAD to know if all the vomiting was getting me anywhere or if it was for naught.
