Anyone miserable and frustrated?

I have to have a bit of a moan!!

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow, (I'm due August 31st) and I don't know how I'm going to cope with another 4+ weeks of this!!!

I can't sleep more than an hour MAX at a time, I am so exhausted and sleep deprived - I've actually started having hallucinations! This morning my husband passed me our phone and for a second I saw it as a massive kitchen knife! Gah....

Basically the only position I can sleep in is on my side, but after half an hour, this starts to hurt, (even with the mass of cushions all around me) and to move out of laying on my side is agony because I get really awful pains around my pelvic bone whenever I move from laying on my side, (I know some other women have had this problem) and the problem appears to be getting worse!

My feet have also just swelled up to ridiculous proportions, they no longer fit in my flip flops and I've been getting pins and needles and they're sore - and now my hands have swollen a bit too and are sore. And that just adds up to EVERYTHING else being sore, my bump aches and I'm just too too exhausted.

I have to go and pee every half an hour, I get up every hour to go to the toilet at night - oh and to top it off, I've got thrush!

Great!

Well, tomorrow I'm going for another ultrasound because at 32 weeks I measured 36wks and baby was weighing approx 6Ib, 8oz. So, we'll have to see how much bigger he's got in the last four weeks!

My ribs are aching too...anyone else got this?

Hang in there! Maybe the dr will induce you early? Have they checked for pre-eclampsia?(sp) Have you tried sleeping in a recliner with lots of pillows? Also, a heating pad or an ice pack might help your pain. Heat helped me more than ice but you can alternate it.

Oh Fluffyblueberry, moan as much as you need to!!! We hear you!!! Hang in there... nobody has ever stayed pregnant forever.

I hear you about going to the bathroom ever 1/2 hour... even when I don't have to go to the bathroom, if baby moves around down low, it feels like I need to go

For me, I'd rather endure more pregnancy than induction, but that's just me....

I hear ya about 1/2 hr sleep intervals and taking forever to move out of sidelaying position.
Last night I didn't REALLY fall asleep till 6am. So I slept about 4 hours on the couch...the couch cushions make my hips hurt less when I sidelay there...although they still hurt. Could you try that?
And when I had to get up to pee during the night, I swear it took me 10 minutes each time to hoist myself up!!!
our due date is off?

I completely agree! We bought a new couch 8 weeks ago, which is being delivered tomorrow. My DH wants to freecycle the old one. I told him not until we're sure I can sleep on the new one as comfortably!

My Due Date is Aug 23, my DH thinks it's going to be the 16th, but I have humbly requested him to move it up to the 11th (I'm hoping his Jedi powers are strong :P)

Good luck to everyone else out there with the hip/pelvic pain issues.

Well, the dr thinks I'm ok for pre-eclampsia cos there's no sign of protein in the urine/no high blood pressure/no bad headaches. But he said just to be cautious and call in right away if I get any headaches. It's possible they may try and induce early, no idea, I'll have to find out the verdict tomorrow! I think they're just going to ask me to come in for another ultrasound in a couple of weeks............

Thanks - yeh, it's so uncomfortable when the baby presses down on the bladder, sometimes I don't think I'll make it to the loo!

Hi there! Unfortunately our sofa is a small two seater...despite that, I have managed to find a reasonably comfortable position on there at times...just not comfortable enough to sleep!

I am due about the same time. Although I don't have thrush and am not measuring ahead like you are, I have the EXACT same sleep pattern, pee pattern, swollen sore ankles/hands and trouble rolling over that you have! I will tell you that I started drinking an organic red raspberry leaf/nettle combination tea (I buy the tea leaves bulk and combine them) and my swelling has gone down considerably.

Hope you feel better mama!

Hi there, sorry to hear you're suffering too! However I have some raspberry leaf tea in the cupboard, I just haven't had any yet!! So, I'll start on that tonight! Thanks for the tip! Take care! xx

I'm dragging over here. I sleep half the night in my bed, then my son comes in and I go sleep in his bottom bunk. It actually works because I can reach up and pull myself over holding onto the bunkbed boards creating some leverage. It's not pretty but seems to at least making rolling over easier. But I miss sleeping comfortably! My hips are perpetually in pain.

I was told that the nettle might be the one that is better for swelling so if you can get some organic nettle to add in with your raspberry leaf, you might be better off! If you try the raspberry leaf alone, let me know how it works for swelling without nettle. With the combo, I noticed my swelling go down after only 2 cups.

I've been having horrible, violent nightmares.
Due date is 9 days from now, I am ALL over my DH, who kinda deserves it; DS has a wicked cold with a cough, it's 99 freaking degrees outside, my dog is rubbing her butt on my persian carpet, there's a war going on and everyone's calling it "crisis" or "conflict", my ass hurts, I am obsessed with cloth diapers again, but . . .
I'm gonna have a baby AND . . . I noticed a little colustrum last night!

I think I may have some nettle tea too somewhere... but I'll let you know how it goes with just the raspberry leaf!

Hang in there, mama!
I'm due on the 18th and about two weeks ago was feeling your frustration EXACTLY. The pain in my hips has not gone away, the pelvic pain is still there, I still have to pee every 20-30 minutes, and I can't sleep for sh*t. But for some reason after living with these sensations for the past couple of weeks, I'm no longer frustrated. I'm tired and achy, I'm anxious to meet ds and get our life together started, and I'm mildly annoyed at all the physical discomfort. But knowing that it can't possibly last too much longer is a big help.

I don't know how you feel about this, but when not being able to sleep became a huge problem for me in terms of daily functioning, my midwife told me that it was OK to take a Benadryl or a Tylenol PM to help me get to sleep. I did. And I can't tell you what a relief it was to get some rest. I still woke up every hour or so to pee, but getting back to sleep was easy, and I felt well enough the next day to start nesting (with a venegeance, ).

Nobody's ever stayed pregnant forever!

I hear you on the pelvic pain. I have a slight separation in my pubic bone (cartilage softened right up) and can be an excruciating pain, especially at night. I sleep with a big fat pillow between my legs and roll over with it. Keeps your legs from coming together which hurts like a bear! HTH!

Miserable and frustrated? Only in dealing with nosy strangers and baby registries! You'd think stores would be nicer and more helpful to people who are 9 months pregnant. Blech. :

Sorry you are feeling so icky, and best hopes for an upswing and a great labor!

I second the benedryl suggestion. I have started doing that when I am having a hard time falling and staying asleep and I think it has really saved my sanity :

I am with all of you on the pelvic pain. It hurts to walk, it hurts to lay down, it hurts to roll over....it sucks!!!! I am 36 weeks too, but am hoping my dates were off and I am really farther along. I have an appointment tomorrow, so we will see if I am dialated any. Last time (32 weeks) I was 60% effaced, but not dialated.

i am due the 1st so i am in the same boat. i swear the last month is the hardest thing in pregnancy. i am having bad hip/pelvic floor pain. my PT told me to sit on a heating pad to help the muscles RELAX cause the pain is them reacting every time the baby moves kicks etc and then NOT relaxing again. so like your pelvic floor muscles are just tight 24/7 and pulling on your bones. my "excerses" are to sit/lay down and squeeze (not using your butt at all) and hold 5 sec. and release COMPLETELY for 10 sec. 2x a day. its helped some. apparently you have to retrain your muscles to relax again.

no swelling here so can't help you with that and i actually only get up to pee 1-2x a night its more of the switching positions thing i have a hard time with and wakes me up cause it takes forever!!!

i am hoping for anytime after august 25th.

One day at a time

I can definately understand how you feel. Three weeks ago, my midwife said the baby would be born "any day now." Well, I'm now 1 day past my due date and still no baby. The only way I found to keep my sanity was to stop thinking about how much longer it will be and just get through each day as it comes. I was making myself, my husband, and my children miserable because I was so grumpy - the disappointment was getting me down. Then I read a few very sad stories about women who had lost their precious babies, and I thought, what do I have to complain about? Sure it's painful when the baby squirms around, and I can barely walk (and forget about sleeping), but at least I know she's still healthy and alive. I try to focus on that now whenever I'm uncomfortable, or can't sleep - at least my baby is doing well, and I'm willing to suffer whatever I have to to keep her that way.

We've all been there (and maybe will again sometime in the future); that feeling is just part of being pregnant. It will be over soon.
