Anyway, I'm thinking ahead a little and I just can't remember when babies tend to settle into a 2-nap routine... Anyone recall?

well, nevermind I guess... I found an old thread. It seems like it's several months - at least 6 for most babies.

That sounds about right. Or you could end up with one like my first ds. He didn't nap until after 1 year. Before that, it was 15 minute cat naps. On the plus side, he napped until he was 5!

My baby still spends most of the day sleeping still...

: Need to know this too! Plus, how to get the toddler to return to his ever-so-necessary naptime. He hasn't taken a regular nap in weeks and every time he happens to be in the car at nap time he is fast asleep in moments.

Here's how our naps have gone (max'smama, our toddlers are only about a month apart in age, feb19 for mine). Prebaby, I'd go in with him and lie down and within 30 minutes he'd fall asleep. He's weaned so we didn't have that, but he has some other comfort routines that seemed to work quickly. Since baby, I bring baby with me and he's usually asleep in the sling. Toddler cannot leave him alone : but eventually he tires of it and settles down. It's taken more like an hour each time, to get him to sleep But he really needs the nap, so I don't have much choice.

I could leave the baby out of the bedroom with his 11yo brother, but if the baby wakes and needs to nurse, and big brother brings him in, it will take a looong time to settle the toddler all over again. I'm hoping the toddler tires of mauling the baby at naptime.
