just thought id share

my mother and i had this discussion months ago but i never got around to sharing it. we now no longer discuss vaxs btw..and for a lil background she is a radiation therapist so she lives and dies believing in our health care systems....

i told her i want to make an infromed choice about vaccines and that i had to educate myself more on it before i make my decision(obviously from months ago huh since after my research i def decided theres no way my babe is getting vaxed!!)

her answer to this...oh and she hit below the belt:

"well,honey,you're not smart enough to make that kind of decision,you didn't get a degree in college."

something along those lines, ive tried to erase that conversation from my memory honestly but basically shes saying im dumb and so therefor i cant be educated about vaxs so i should vax..wheres the logic in that.. i dunno!

she then went on to say how im the worst mother in the world and im being cruel and unfair by not 'allowing' lini to have vaxes.:

You'd think your own mother would applaud you for trying to make an informed decision. I'm sorry she told you that. Those are really hurtful words.

That's very sad that she said that to you. You sound like a great mama for looking into vax before blindly going by what your pedi suggests. I'm sorry that your mom can't see that.

aww, that sucks that your mom is so unsuportive......my FIL is similar, he thinks drs know it all. He freaked when we wanted to do a homebirth (which we couldnt do because of money).

Wow. I don't really know what else to say, except I'm sorry. And I'm surprised you managed to live as long as you have without a degree. (I dn't have one either. Shocker, huh? there's two of us in this world)
