My baby doesn't want to come out

Back from the doc and it was not the news I expected. I was 2 (maybe even 3) centimeters dilated last week and 50% effaced and have made NO progress. Then he goes on to tell me he thinks I'll probably go past my due date and scheduled me for a non-stress test next Thursday.

I am so bummed. This is just different than it was with my son. I progressed, my water broke and out he came, big, healthy and 3 days early.

Any hints on how to help progress?

Just relax and try not to predict the future. I am now convinced that the same person can have a completely different labor each time.
I had my first VE this pregnancy a week before the birth, and I wasn't dilated at all, yet I was one of the first here to have a baby! So you can look like nothing is happening, then have it happen all at once; or the complete opposite, with lots of "signs" of impending labor, and still be pregnant for weeks.
And my labors were each so different, and of varying lengths. You just never know!
You can always walk a lot, have sex, etc. But I think baby will just come when ready. I know, easier said with labor behind me!!

adrenaline, anticipation???!!! i think i have heard that expecting it will make it stop. i do know that flooding your body with adrenaline will stop labor. hang in there!!!

I don't know mama, I'm right there with you except I'm at a 4 and 50% effaced. Still nothing going on here either. I'm due the 9th, it looks like you are due the day after me.

We can keep each other company

I tried walking, swimming, birth ball, hands and knees, pelvic rocks etc to move babe in a better position since I'm having so much prodromal labor. Hoping that will help move things along.

Umm, yeah, I am past dates now.: I have no idea if I am dilated or anything. I have an appt. on Wed. and I'll probably have her check this time. Dh has predicted that I will not have the baby til the 18th. That would put me 16 past my EDD. I don't know what he's thinking!

Just had my 40 week today and again passed on the internal exam. I just don't want to be bummed out or excited one way or the other. This wee boy is coming when he's ready and he has exactly 15 days before he's going to be evicted.

to us all! I'm due on Sunday... in a way, I wish I didn't even know my EDD.
