When did you start questioning the "necessity" of vaccinations? - Page 3

I saw the book "What Every Parent Should Know About Vaccinations" at the local organic food co-op store (in San Luis Obispo, CA) when I was pregnant and it was very reasonably priced so I bought it. I had had absolutely NO IDEA whatsoever that they were bad before then. I have known a non-vaxing family (through church) for over a decade, but I only heard my mom blame them for spreading disease like when all 7 children got WC at the same time. I have since educated my mom and she has no problem (at least not enough to get upset with me) with dd not being vaxed

I also sort of instinctively knew they were bad because I always hated getting them and am terribly afraid of needles because of vaxes *shudder*

love and peace.

I started questioning after dd#1 developed type 1 diabetes a few weeks after her MMR shot and I heard there might be a link. I did tons & tons of research when pregnant with dd#2 and decided on a delayed/selective schedule. Then the 2nd DTaP/HIB/IPV (Pentacel here in CAnada,) that dd got, she had a severe reaction to and it made me decide no more vaxes.

I didn't find the vax board here until after dd had had her reaction and was afraid of some diseases that now I have no concerns about. This baby won't get any vaxes at all and while I still feel a bit nervous about the decision, I feel much much less nervous about not vaxing than I do about vaxing...

I questioned it after my son's first round of shots and refused to do any others until school (I didnt know I did not have to or I would not have)

preg again and put some actual research into it (as 12 years have passed) and now there's no freaking chance of me vaxxing a child. unless there's an outbreak of something. and that's if we're right in the middle of it. which I dont see happening.

I was looking into alternative health care and drug-free birthing and diet in my late teens. I knew I did not want any children I had to be vaccinated and they haven't. Here in uk you don't get much hassle about it usually, just the usual scare-mongering, I think usa and other places, are pretty hardcore where medicine and other procedures are concerned, hopefully that will change as more and more people question the validity of their claims.
