I have a pair of acrylic longies and hate them, I think I used them twice and that's it.
Lately I have been itching to knit my own wool soaker and/or longies, but all I have is pink!! My son will not be pleased(he's old enough to know he does not like pink and blue is his favorite color. Everything he colors is blue)
To make wool cover for my little one who I till be meeting later this months, (37w5d). I am scared... I will say it... This is the first time I am going to try and make either of these.... I just do not know what to do about the cuffs; both want to use them for the legs. Any ideas?
Actually, you don't. They work better if you do, and they will resist urine odor longer if you do, but they *will* work fine without lanolizing provided the diaper underneath is doing it's job properly. Contrary to popular belief, lanolizing does not in any way "waterproof" knitted wool.

TIA!
onlyAngil - I used this link/pattern for the soaker http://katrinassqs.blogspot.com/ which keeps the cuffs available for the longies. I was going to use that same pattern for longies, but the sleeves got lots of holes in them when I washed/dried in an attempt to felt the wool. Anyway the soaker pattern is a great one and really easy.
