Sling rings in Canada???

Hey all,
I'm looking for someplace to order the sling rings from or a store to get them from in Canada??
Any idea??
I looked at the sites listed before and they do ship to Canada, but I would rather not pay duty on Rings...kwim????

Hi!

I'm in Canada and will send you an old sling that I'm not using (complete with rings) if you'll send me something in return. I love homemade stuff of all kinds.

I found that the slings I was able to make (two of them) were far better than the one that I bought (used at a garage sale but still in good condition). For the second one, I actually used a large key ring as a ring and it worked just fine.

Hi there!

I have a friend who has put together a book of different slings...how to make them and how to wear them. None of them have rings! I have used two of the slings extensively and they are fantastic! One is very similar to the type of sling that uses rings, but IMHO, much more comfotable! You can PM me if you are interested in this alternative.

Actually my mil is sewing a sling for me, she's a great seamstress, but I just can't find rings for her in Canada.....
I have a heart to heart sling already, but it is dd and I thought that she may not like it if babe is using her sling....

I would be interested in the non ring kind Prairie Momma, if mil could whip it up???

I was thinking there must be someone out there in Canada that sells rings or a store somewhere that you could get them.....

I made myself a sling and bought the rings at a hardware store. Just look in the section where they have chains on big spools, kwim? They usually have sturdy metal rings there...

I was hoping for Nylon rings, but metal will do the trick too

http://www.kidalog.com in their sewing section they sell plastic sling rings! I bought 4 and whupped myself up 2 Maya wrap style slings ! So easy! They cost like $2.50 per? And I wanted plastic instead of metal (which we had laying around the farm) because that way they aren't clanking around the washing machine/rusting etc. after baby burpies get all over it!

Another source for sling rings is stores that supply stuff for horses. I don't know what they use them for, but the ladies at the fabric store sent me there. I know you don't want metal, but thought maybe someone else reading the thread might want them.

There's a co-op going for these right now

She is getting them for $2.25/pr from www.slingrings.com If she gets enough orders she might get more of a discount. There is also shipping & a $1 co-op fee per person. Depending how much you would have to pay in duties, it might be cheaper for you to order through the co-op, just ask her to write gift on it when she sends it to you to avoid the taxes. I know a bunch of the co-ops regularly do that when shipping across borders.
